did you see how the horses didn't like the bits in there mouths?? Haven't We Invented anything yet to replace those uncomfortable things ? ridiculous!!!
Don't know if you know but I'm hoping the fascination of these beautiful horses will make people aware of the senseless culling of wild horses in the American wild!
Shame on Budweiser for the cruel amputations they perform on these magnificent horses. They dock their tails...a seriously stupid procedure where they remove most of it - bone, muscles, nerves and skin - leaving just a tiny, useless stub. Horses that have been mutilated like this are no longer able to sweep away biting insects. They are drenched in flyspray before each performance...however, once retired...no one does this for them. They are put out to pasture during the day and suffer from the constant barrage of insects that they cannot get rid of. They must move constantly..stamping their feet, kicking, shaking...doing whatever they can to get rid of them...but they cannot. Just miserable...and so stupid and cruel!!!!!!! Some of these unfortunates horses suffer a lifetime of chronic or phantom pain from the butchering. Please Budweiser...stop doing this. STOP IT!!! www.change.org/p/carlos-brito-kees-storm-anheuser-busch-budweiser-beer-i-want-budweiser-to-stop-mutilating-their-horses
I know Erin...it is very sad and cruel. I, along with others, keep working at getting more laws passed to stop people, like Budweiser, from mutilating their horses like this. www.change.org/p/carlos-brito-kees-storm-anheuser-busch-budweiser-beer-please-stop-the-cruelty-of-amputating-your-horse-s-tails
It is done because they don't want the chance of it getting trapped in the harness. Some don't bother docking because they have less fear about this happening. Yes it is sometimes unnecessary and they should be given flyspray even afterwards. But how do you know they don't use it once retired? Where is your evidence to back that up? And you could get a million signatures on that petition but it won't change a thing. It is like trying to sue McDonalds: It is such a big company that it would cost millions to get them to change their ways.
Hello Shadow. I am sorry that you misunderstood the purpose of my petition, or the entire issue of docking to begin with. The possibility of the tail getting caught in the harness is a non-issue. If you read the research in my petition...that is explained very well. Budweiser, just so you know...tells people they amputate the tails so that the horse behind does not get their face brushed by the horse in front. And no...I am not trying sue anyone. I am though working with a lobbyist to change the laws, one state at a time. Right now, 14 states prohibit this cruelty, along with 5 Canadian provinces and 11 countries. I keep the spotlight on Budweiser because they are so visible, and if they ever stop this cruelty, then, others will certainly take notice. If you would read my research...I explain all of this. Your question to me is confusing and I do not understand what you are asking...what does this mean? "But how do you know they don't use it once retired? Where is your evidence to back that up?" What are you asking me here? The letter-to-the-editor currently running right now also has some excellent information as well. Before you make statements to me, like you did here which are quite untrue...you might want to do your research. And, before you question or challenge things, just READ the research already done. www.suncommunitynews.com/opinions/letters-to-the-editor/boycott-the-budweiser-clydesdales/
OOOOHH ! ! ! Even professionals make mistakes handling horses....When he took the halter off he slung it over his shoulder,,WRONG ! ! should have dropped back over the neck of the horse and buckled it so he had some control...the horse was for a short time with NOTHING on head to control the horse,, what if that horse spooked....no means of control and all those people standing there watching...ACCIDENT waiting to happen. even someone watching there on the video was heard commenting about nothing on the horse and he could just walk away,,,,40 years of horse experience and instructing and you can spot these errors.......Budweiser is a large company and these guys who work with horses should know better.....lazyness....shortcuts a big NO NO....
gone fishin You ever see what one of these big horses can do if they spook ???? Over 2,000# of horse and they can do some serious damage !!!! But then Budweiser has a really really deep bank account !!!!
The little thing in his mouth is called a bit and it's made of steel so of course he doesn't like it the only reason they do that is because they are 2500 pound animals that can kill u with their own body. Oh and he isn't hooked to anything because years of training and desensitizing goes into each and every one, u dumb bitches!!
Their tails are cut off, been doing that for years since horses have been hitched for pulling. They cut the tails off so it doesn't get tangled in the equipment.
They CAN dock horse tails the same as dog´s tails, just the way you explain it, it´s just shaving the hair. I don´t have a problem with that, the hair can grow back. But saying the hair are being shaved to stop the tail getting tangled or trampled by other horses is downright hilarious. So here other horses constantly trample on other horses´ tails. And we don't shave the hairs either and still we don't have problem with tails caught in the harness. Still, shaving is better than docking.
As somebody who worked with breeding heavy horses (including Clydses) It is correct etiquette to shave the end of the horses dock to stop the tail getting tangled and caught with the harnessing/trampled by the other horses. They don't dock in the same manner as dogs tails are cut off, just the tail hair is cut short/the hair on the end shaved, I agree it does make them look a bit like giant rabbits, but H&S first! :)
I am 4'9" tall, age 19. If those men are around 6' tall, imagine me standing right next to these beautiful horses. The tip of my head would be somewhere around the middle of these horses' shoulders. ^^ I stood next to a draft horse once and the horse was tall. ^^
look at his mouth at 1:46!!hes like.....''hello everyone, yes im a clysdale!my name is bob, nice to meet you all!can someone get this stuff off me??i had a late night last night and well.um...im shattered!'' lol!xd
Yea, It looks that way but they are just keeping everything the way it was when bud was first established. Back when these horses(well their ancestors) pulled the full beer wagons to bars.

What I don't understand is why they can't tie their tails up for show and then let them down afterwords

beautiful
One of this breed could pull the wagon, why use eight, like why drive a car with eight cylinders, when two will do, another waste of resource.
They are such gentle giants!
Those are dig horses

Nice camera
Amazing horses, more so than any other breed.
I was just thinking the same thing. Makes me mad.
Beautiful horses, but oh how they ruined them by docking the tails.
Somehow, I doubt they need more than one of these big fellows to pull that little wagon.
Yep, and only because their horse is clearly very in control and relaxed. He's completely at ease, not even slightly panicky.
