This piece is by our Director of Dance, Kenn Burke. It was created as a finale for our 2016 Showcase which was subtitled 'Destinations' and takes it's inspiration from a ceilidh.

'Solar Eclipse' - Lorraine Miller (2018)

This piece comes from our 2018 Dance Showcase, which was subtitled 'Space', and takes inspiration from the unusual behaviour exhibited by wildlife during a full eclipse of the sun. The piece's programme note said 'There is a sense of panic and fear that the sun may not return. The new light brings renewed energy and hope.'

'Reflection' - Lorna Scott (2017)

This piece was devised for our 2017 Dance Showcase at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. This show was subtitled 'Legends' and Lorna chose composer Arvo Pärt as her inspiration, reflecting the minimalist quality of the music to great effect. We also performed this work at the opening of the Scottish Learning Festival later on in 2017 at the SEC.

From the 2013 Dance Showcase at Theatre Royal, Glasgow, 'Clutching At Straws' is typical of Julian's work, with it's blend of humour and innovation. Julian has had a long relationship with the Dance School creating some of our most powerful and distinctive showcase pieces of recent years.

Music: Radiohead This piece was choreographed for the 2015 Dance Showcase and was inspired by 'Mute Swan' by Calum Colvin, which can be seen on the back cloth at the beginning of the piece.

'Aspire' - Maxine Railton (2012)

This piece takes us back to our Dance Showcase in 2012 and the Kings Theatre, Glasgow. 'Aspire' by Maxine Railton is guaranteed to put a smile on your face, with its a cappella gospel music by Take 6.

This piece is taken from our 2019 Dance Showcase. The theme of the show was 'Scotland' and Ross Logan created 'Tweed Today' exploring the manufacture and fashion industry surrounding our nation's famous textile.

This piece comes from our 2014 Dance Showcase at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. That year's Act 1 theme was based on Vivaldi's 'The 4 Seasons'. This film was the first part of Martin McLaughlin's 'Winter' pieces.
