Jerry's Jet Boats on the Rouge River
I've ridden on these boats several times and it is always enjoyable. Highly recommended if the weather is good. I was camping on the river and had a chance to do a video of one of the jet boats going by. Relaxing and fun to watch.

This is a yearly event in Petaluma where several city blocks are closed off for a great show and parade. The show is done to honor the the streets where many scenes of American Graffiti were filmed. Here are some of my favorite cars that were in the parade.

Woman Crabbing Off Sonoma Coast Has Hand Nearly Cut Off
Переглядів 1044 місяці тому
A woman’s hand was nearly cut off last weekend March 17th 2024, as she was crabbing aboard a boat off the Sonoma County Coast, authorities said. Multiple agencies responded about 10:10 a.m. Sunday to a reported amputation, said Karen Hancock, Sonoma County Fire District community liaison. The fire district, U.S. Coast Guard and California Highway Patrol arrived after the recreational fishing bo...

The Crab Boat Aleutian Storm, just North of Bodega Bay. These shots were taken around 10am on a high tide and large swell. It was raining at the time with a 10 to 15 foot swell. Damage continues to the hull and the aft decking is now partially lost. I also have to assume that a good portion of the fuel that was not removed has been displaced by the heavier seawater. Fuel tank vents would be on ...

The Crab Boat Aleutian Storm wreck, just North of Bodega Bay. These shots were taken around 9:30am on mid tide, not high not low. From a mere day's storm her whole superstructure is now gone. The life raft canister has self deployed and the raft is on the beach. Now a complete wreck and just a hull. Parts of the wheelhouse and superstructure can be seen on the beach and in the sea. Really nice video. How complex was the permission process for flying in a state park? I was on the beach at this wreck in the first two days and wondered as a licensed drone pilot what the process would be for permission.
Same engine used on the B36 and B50 bombers and on the C124 and C97/B-377 Stratocruiser transport planes/airliners, as well as the JRM Mars flying boats...
A very sad site to see. Having now watched all 5 segments my curiosity ask’s what circumstances led to the grounding?
The word is a crew member at the wheel fell asleep. She ran aground and the sea did the rest.
can you imagine trying to diagnose a misfire?
What are the torque specs and fuel consumption at normal operating speed, Thanks
I don't know the fuel specs. The torque is listed in the video. Thanks
does it pull the donkey or the donkey pulls it?
Neither. Old logging operations used mule or donkey teams to pull logs out of the woods but a steam engine and winch replaced the need for them, hence the name “donkey engine”.
But what about today? after the big rain of Saturday, let’s see some pictures💦🌧️💦🌧️. 👀
This was on the movie Fringe. I think it leads to an alternate universe.
Amazing the lake hovers so long at JUST below the level to start flowing in full scale
"what have you been looking into this week, other than glory holes?" Jimmy Carr.
That is one place you def dont want to lose a drone.
I think what impresses me most about similar overflows is the skill and precision with which the water drains EVENLY around the entire circumference of the water level. Credit to the surveyor and the concrete guys.
would u die if u were swept in

@@luxubu666 thanks
Wow, wonder how that happened?
I couldn't figure it out until I saw that four horsepower gasoline winch. Somebody actually makes that damn thing. Can you imagine trying to wrap a line around that spool constantly turning? They don't start and stop that engine. They just leave it running so she got her hand caught in that line while wrapping it around that spinning capstan.
What’s it gonna take to drop this in my ford
FM engines in that family all have a very distinctive sound.
Sorry for this loss my friend.
😊👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😊
I can not believe how fast and completely the waves destroyed the vessel.
Not much left of her.

Some jerk who has done nothing with their life is a keyboard critic. Beware the payback, marlonsalinas3541!
It seems so simple to tow it off the beach but I know it's way more complex than it seems
At one time it was a hell of a lot easier to drag her back into the water than it is now to haul her up the beach to cut up. She is full of sand now and is much heavier.
So sorry for your loss. Capt fox.💔
Great drone footage. It saddens me to watch such a beautiful craft endure such a slow demise.
Less than a week seems fast compared to other shipwrecks, like the Iredale.

Nice footage. Shitty situation. She's a goner. Very sad.
I doubt shes a goner. Looks like a steel boat. If they can get it out the can restore it.

Reminds me of starting the old Studebaker out in our backyard.
I would give up many things to experience that violent, brutal, and raw power first hand.

That blurb at the beginning is pretty stupid. These engines weren't rare, and there's still no shortage of people that worked on them. Sure, they're getting old, but they aren't extinct. There's no excuse for a museum to not have a 4360 that runs. Hell, there's pulling tractor owners out there with running engines, just go talk to one of those guys.
Wait it’s running ? Quiet 😂
Seeing the visible panel flexing purely from air displacement of the crank rod big end, wild stuff.
that's not from the rod whipping around....the lower end is used a compressor to draw air in and then blow it into the cylinder above via bypass passages in the cylinder walks just like a modern 2 stroke...
My name is G. Huffman and when I was a kid there were two of them running day and night at that mill. My uncle Tom Huffman was the machinist there. The two of them were in a big steel building with the machine shop and lathes and tools inside. I of course remember them being a lot bigger. I heard that they were shipped to the Filipines. The mufflers were in the ground, concrete boxes with steel plates over them and you could hear them booming all around the valley. I do know they were rebuilt a few times because I saw the pistons and other parts around on the floor. In a back room were two other generators as emergency standby , one was a big horizontal single diesel I don't remember what the other one was. That would have been 55 to 60 years ago. Brings back memories.
Great info. Thanks for the thoughtful comment. I love the history.
This giant 2 stroke probably makes 60 psi of boost in the crankcase alone. when that giant piston comes back down after the high reed valve closes lots of pressure.
