Taking Our Steer for Processing
Moving a couple fellas in today’s video-one to the processor and one to the ranch.
We’ve been pleased with the two locations we’ve used for pig processing, but we tried a more local business for our first steer this month- A&H Meats.

I would not do it that way. Clean the mess out then build a new fence.

You’re right! Our kids are usually livestock safety conscious. They were just surprised and excited-thankful the horses were friendly and our son stayed safe from potential harm until I came outside and directed him away. Horses are our neighbor’s. The four of them made their way onto our property which was cause for great surprise to wake up and find them in the front yard. We have a longer video with more details we’ll share this month. :)

Gave them a good start using the compost. I hope you have the best of luck. They look good size, just water water water, full on water hose, no sprayer, count to 20 and move to the next one, every other day for first two weeks then you should be good. God is good, Amen. I hope you will be fruitful and multiply!

Need to adjust that head gate so they can’t back out once they’re caught. Should be some pins at the top or bottom, that would make working them SO much easier for you.
You’re right! We do have the pins. With these cows being different sizes, we could have adjusted the pins each time to better suit the different sizes but didn’t take the time to do that.

The electric fencing will be solar but yes we’re thankful to have electricity conveniently close by.

Thanks! Two of our four dogs dug out within the first 48hrs but so thankful they returned safely. Cliff has made adjustments since and we’ve not had any more issues. Eager for the fencing to be complete so they’re more free.
