    Hello sir. Best oil for GL350 Diesel 2013 Bluetec? Liqui Molly or Mobil?

  • @seanbailey2298

    Why in the world would they put the drain bolt on the FRONT of the pan. Most people raise the front of their vehicle to do oil changes. This would force il to the back of the oil pan and wouldn't drain out?!? 🤬

    • @bobbybuilds208
      @bobbybuilds208 5 місяців тому

      Agreed. It doesn’t make much sense. Hence the reason to raise the entire car evenly.

  • @NikonErik

    Why, oh why does Mercedes have us change the drain plug with every oil change?

    • @bobbybuilds208
      @bobbybuilds208 5 місяців тому

      I think this helps reduce a change of an oil leak through the drain bolt thread. It’s cheap insurance.

      You can get away with only replacing the crush washer.. the drain plug is optional.

    When i looked for oil filter for my 2011 gl.. on line it looked different than yours. Mine seemes to have a spire on the end of the filter. Did they change filters. Is the filter a fleece or paper filter

    • @bobbybuilds208
      @bobbybuilds208 5 місяців тому

      I’m not 100% sure of the material used for the filter but it is closer to paper than it is to fleece. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.

    Just curious why do you add oil to filter housing before replacing drain plug? doesn't it just run out?

      I believe that's why at the end he says he is glad he bought the extra oil quart lol... he must be doing it every time before putting drain plug back haha... we all slip up every now and then... good video still :) haa

    use oil extractor pump, and you don't have to lift the vehicle. and it will suck out more oil than through the drain plug in this model of mercedes engine.

    • @bobbybuilds208
      @bobbybuilds208 5 місяців тому

      Unfortunately, I am home DIY guy and don’t have any specialty tools like an extractor pump. Would be cool to use one and would definitely save time.

    • @davidjacobs8558
      @davidjacobs8558 5 місяців тому

      @@bobbybuilds208 10 quarts oil extractor pump can be bought for around hundred twenty. but it only works with certain engines, not all. engines where the dip stick hole goes all the way down to the bottom of oil pan.

    thanks for the video, very informative. one question: why you use Liqui Molly oil instead Mobil oir that recommend MB factory? im new MB owner and want to be sure to give the best products to my new baby, thanks in advance.

    • @bobbybuilds208
      @bobbybuilds208 2 роки тому

      I’ve been using Liqui Molly for some time and have been really impressed with the results. Also, I am a huge fan of FCP Euro and they recommend these products as well as do the larger MB and BMW communities. It comes down to preference, I guess. Thanks for watching the video and for leaving a comment.

    I use FCP Euro also. And the life time warranty is awesome. Cost close to $80 for oil change and to mail all stuff back is abt $20 shipping . I feel this is a great deal. And your video is fine. I have a few GL450 videos myself.

      @@charleswilson6721 you need to turn key to acc mode, then press the R button 3 times. then the display will show Voltage. then use the buttons on the left side of steering wheel to go through menus and you can reset the service warning by confirming service. there are videos on it on youtube if you use the right search words.

      Just buy it. When you go do your second oil change, put the old oil (which you put in during your first change) into the new containers and ship them back to FCP Euro
