Viktos Johnny combat boot ..real work use review.
Blurs decent , grab a magnacut blacked out version. Its great
I want to try these, but i just replaced my Merrell hiking boots and tried a few different styles in the store and the size 9 in different styles of merrell hiking boots fit TOTALLY different. Some 9s fit perfect, some a little big, and a lot were very small on my foot. So, i dont want to order these and have to go back and forth returning to get the correct size.
I have a pair of the new ventilated ones. I like them, but there is no padding in the back part of the heel and my heels are a bit raw/sore by the end of my shift.
Howdy from Syracuse! Picked this up yesterday from Walmart. After collecting knives for last 10 years I’m still loving it. It’s a good design.
I live in buffalo, too. Just bought the moab 3. I work on concrete in a saw shop 10 plus hours a day and i wanted to try something softer on my feet. Also wanted something lighter with more traction in the snow.
Love this review man! 😂 best way to revive this information. Great point about satin clips as well.
Thanks for the comment!
Did you have any issue with your heel slipping up in the back? I just bought a pair of these, great everywhere else, they’re comfortable, but it seems like what no matter how tight I make them, I have heel slippage in the back.
Great update. Candid and to the point. Well played, sir.
I paid 130 for syper manix 2 and it broke in two splitting lighter wood
Lol..remember you have a zipper on the side
Are you getting the endura
Would you recommend these boots for warehouse work and being on your feet for hours?
I’ve been doing land survey in Salomon forces 4d boots for over a year. Still 5~10 miles a day like this guy but only 4 days a week. You do the math. The inside of my Salomon’s are nearly new in appearance. Outside, I’ve run the green color out and down to natural leather. Soles are around half life and the boot as a whole may easily hit 2 years with no problems. $240 is steep but you get what you pay for with the forces 4d boot :)
I just bought a pair of solomon forces the definitely are amazing so far!
So it turns out that many Viktos products look great, but are poorly made. They are not real Tactical products. They are lifestyle products. They look the part, but they do not stand up to the work.
Got the same one too for $88 and M4 steel at that price is a really good deal.
Got mine last week for $69!! Love it.
Great presentation. Thanks
I've had my Merrell composite toe work boots for nearly 3 years now. two pairs of insoles later and the outer soles are almost worn smooth, if they were Vibram I'd replace them but sadly they are not. I have a fresh new pair waiting in hall. best boots I've ever owned.
Sweet set up , I miss the 80s.
I tried Merrells but prefer unlined leather boots year round , been wearing Redwing 3322s for quiet a while , just bear grease them and wear wool socks in the winter.
Totally agree ..love leather boots it's just when I have to walk serious miles in a day I prefer the Merrells.
Because of the poor corrosion resistance of M4 K390 & a few others like those two is why I prefer the VG-10 models.
Nice , i got my edc dialed in to American made except for my watch , went with a wenger.
Well, lasting 5 months of abuse is not bad for $80 retail price sneakers-style lightweight combat boots. Just got mine at the price of $50 at botach. Gonna try them for weekend hiking.
I use loggers normally big heavy boots. 300 bucks last 6 months for me. but I picked up a pair of these to just do yard work and step in dog shit
i have 2 pairs of moab shoes. try bates boots. the coyote ones you can send them back if you want (amazon).
I’m gonna give my 2 cents . I have a pair , they are comfortable, But they are not worth 130 bucks . Bass pro has a similar pair of boots w/ gore Tex , for around 75 . A heads up , these fit tight in the toe box, and these are not waterproof! ! That is all . 10-4 . 👍
30 subs now. How are they in the winter?
They were in the garbage before winter they fell apart..they would be completely useless in winter..no insulation and substandard waterproofing.
@@tonymess3493 awesome thanks for heads up. I found a pair of altama extreme cold weather boots with inserts. For 55 bucks on ebay had em three days like em so far.
@@tonymess3493 for dryer and warmer mostly spring summer fall I run with the altama assault shoe it works at pushing water out in like three steps and with the right sock your feet drys out pretty good.
28 subs now.
i have the exact same boots and they are hot on the feet. also have a pair of the non waterproof. they are not quite as hot. so far mine have been waterproof but i haven’t submerged them. i walk in alot of wet grass early in the morning as well.
Yea I don’t even bother with waterproof boots, none of them are waterproof worth a damn anyway and they’re always hot, even in colder weather your feet just sweat out.
I’ve got a pair of these and the Lowa tactical got then at the same time I actually like these better they are tops.
Oh cool I got an old original Combat Commander been carrying it since like 2005, I should send it in to get worked over.
Great review. Thank you! I can't stand the boot reviews where the guy walks around his apartment or in his parking lot and tells me how great the boot is. Haha. Looks like you work the piss out of your boots! I'm subscribing and getting some Merrells. Thanks again!
How did these boys treat ya in the long haul? Are the still around?
They are in the trash..didn't last 5 months..they look cool and are comfortable but the waterproofing is useless and they are definitely not made for real work .
@@tonymess3493 thanks for the reply. I bought the non waterproof since I'm in Georgia. Like you said, they are very comfortable. And I can tell already they are very light duty. They are a high top shoe. Maybe next time I'll try the Altama maritime boots or the Rocky SVTs.
Ironically, California has about the most liberal knife laws on the planet. I carry a few of the gnarliest folders on the planet and nobody has ever said a word.
You truly are not one of the brightes around about knives. Carrying on how you have expensive knives and can't get in to cheaper or Kershaw knives. Some cheaper knives I have found has outlasted some of my more expensive knives. I have thousand of dollars of expensive, cheap midrange knives. To say Kershaw is for you is fine because everyone has their own opinion. Bit they are very good knives. The blur is the ultimate Kershaw knife for me. I have like 4 of these that I like to carry and the a30v steel is my fav. But seriously, you truly sounded like you have know idea about knives and blade shapes. This blur has one of the best and most usfull shape blade of most knives. But yeah.
Go hate somewhere else.. I never said it wasn't a good knife. Sorry I prefer to carry my nicer knives. I noticed the lack of video content displaying the thousands of dollars in knives you allegedly have why don't you make a video and show us . You won't because you cant!
Thank you for the review!!!
Did you use Kiwi all purpose on them?
I’m planning on getting some. What color is this one?
The thing about springs eventually they're going to go I found a crescent tool knives an excellent knife ball bearing mechanism.
My merrell tacticals have lasted but are destroyed and it’s only been 10 months. (I’ve used them for landscaping work only) waterproof feature is broken and I wouldn’t buy them again for it. The Moabs lasted longer. The thorogood moc toe is the way to go in my opinion. (I will add, merrell did give me a full refund for the 10 month old boots so the customer service is 10/10)
4 months isn't long at all, my Redwing work boots I've had for 8 years, i had to get them re-soled eventually. But these aren't meant to be work boots I suppose.
I'm butthurt that you can afford Merrell boots
Earned another sub... Good honest review... my Lawdogs (8in high) Viktos boots are going strong in a high desert environment. Good to find your channel... us small-fish gotta support each other in the UA-camz Ocean. CHEERS!
I have three of these…in different steels. Their factory is close to where I live in Portland, OR. So…made in the USA. It’s one of my favorite designs and really all anyone needs for a hard working EDC. One of the rare medium folders I’d take camping/hiking with confidence as opposed to reserving it for cutting up cardboard and opening mail. Nice vid here.
strange, I bought mine during the winter and went without any marino wool socks because they were already toasty because I bought the 10 mil thin insulate and never once had any water get into my boot and that was 3 or 4 months ago... I currently switched to something lighter because it's starting to get warmer, might be a defect idk.
They have a year warranty on the boots you can get new ones for free. I have two of the same kind.
Don't Drink & Play With Knives
Good idea
I'm tempted to get these and just have them for weekend use, maybe I can get 9 months or more usage out of them or if I should just get a pair of 511 atlas boots
Thanks for the real deal, I appreciate the low down. They look like they are quality.
