It certainly does. She isn't made of magical metal. That's the whole point of an entire season. It's her EYES. When she has normal android eyes, she can be killed like any other robot. Hell, a human could do it with a rock if they got lucky, and gunshots go right through them and kill them (like Father). The whole point is that when she has her EYES, she transforms into the gold form that is weaponized. Without her eyes she can't do her ranged attack that explodes people and machines (which come from the eyes). That is why an entire season is about her putting in normal eyes to not be a killer.. then them being taken.. and her being vulnerable and even unable to fly. She gets her eyes back from the dude's stomach in the scene before this one. The eyes are what are the "magic" power supply. That is what makes them unbeatable, invulnerable, ability to fly, and ranged yell attack that pops things like a balloon. In the Earth scenes, they even say that they "received the plans" for those eyes from.. somewhere. They are so advanced humans cannot understand them, but they can build them according to the plans. That's the whole point of like.. the show. Where did the plans for Mother and her eyes come from?! Look at all the other robots in the show. They are very basic, like the robot-doctors she uses as blood bags, compared to how Mother looks. Literally so advanced it might as well be magic compared to the bots that humans can normally make! That's why when the Athiest found their ONE weakness, for only a few seconds, only one chance, he is able to deactivate Mother (when she was normal - killing the Athiests!) and run in and take her eyes. That turns her into a normal robot, which he is then able to wipe the memory, and.. raise her like a human. There is entire episode about her learning to be human, how to raise children. And then for her 'graduation present', the guy gives her back her eyes as she gets on the ship to go to this planet, with frozen human embryos

The atheists couldn't until Sturgis got involved . He could only jam them. The losses got so bad the atheists in the end stole nukes and nuked the androids. Possibly didn't work in the end , the earth was ruined . Since this series is connected to alien . I assume the Mithraic had the nukes from Weyland Yutanis time

The theist/mithraists discovered or were allowed to discover the technology to develop Necromancers from a more advanced civilisation of beings. Ironically the scientist that developed the necromancers with that knowledge understood the true nature of the technology (not magic based or divine as mithraists believe) and betrayed the mithraists to raise a generation of atheist children to build another civilisation on another planet free of superstition, knowing earth was doomed to be dominated by the theists who possessed the superior weapon of mass destruction that were the necromancers and would grant them victory over the militant atheists. So yes, those that operated that robot among several other units did cinquer the world and continue to colonise other planets.
