I'm just learning to use Devil sticks, I always wanted to & just bought my first sticks. They're addictive! One thing I've learned is that it's greatly based on balance & getting to know the correct timing & it definitely takes practice & perseverance. I've dropped them hundreds of times but if u stay on 1 trick b4 u move on & really put the time in.. it gets much easier. Guess that can be said about anything we do in life. LoL
Your tricks using two sets are unbelievable! I have much respect for your dedication and imagination. Your performance has inspired me to take up juggling again to study how you did these tricks!! I have a question: I notice the first set you used in this performance, isn't the "wand" is slightly shorter? When you are two two sets at once, are they are slightly longer...? Or heavier? Or what? I know that it has been a long time since this was recorded, but possibly could you tell me what are the measurements? My roommate invented the first designs of Flower Sticks in the 1980s. Because flower sticks go much slower, we could learn tricks on flower sticks that will work the same on the faster devil sticks. Once we learn, there is some loss over time, (like "riding a bicycle") most of the abilities are still there for me. How about you now? Have you continued to practice? If not, have you determined how many of these tricks can you still perform 3 years later? suggestion: Changing your category to "juggling" would maybe get you more views?
I just got some Devil Stick for Father's day and they are so fun! You are amazing! This makes me want to continue to learn new skills! Very inspirational! Thank you for pushing the limit!
MisterSkids Thank you for watching and asking! I started juggling after entering university in April 2013. So I had practiced juggling for a half and three years when I performed this. I use devil sticks which weigh about 255g. Honestly speaking, I think those are a little heavy..
Thats what i was afraid of, You use them so easily, Im currently using a pair of hand made with a thin plastic ends in the shape of funnels so there not as heavy but they have problems
Flower Sticks were invented to help learning tricks using the faster Devil Sticks. Notice how Yurie uses a different two longer sets when she does double sticking in the last half? A longer length of the wand goes slightly slower than a shorter wand, allowing control. So learning on a longer wand is slower and easier, then you can transfer your skill to the shorter wand in Flower Sticks...and finally, transfer to the longer wand in Devil sticking, and so on.
Very impressive.

Hey I got a few questions that Id like to ask as a fellow devil stick juggler
How long have you been practicing and how heavy are those devil sticks? Ive tried wooden ones before and there always like trying to push a dumbbell
