Imperial Fists vs Ad Mech - Kill Team 8th (Sector Mechanicus)

Your suggestions and advice are very welcome to help us achieve that, thanks for watching! Facebook: BlackSailsPaintingStudio/ Insta...

The terrain is fantastic as is but the addition of the Warg Flesh Green really makes it pop!
good easy to follow tutorial. would like to see one on the sector imperialis game board pipe and conduit sections.
Thanks a lot for this video.
Great video!
Nice! thanks
Sorry what are all the paints u use?
im following your tutorial, of course when mine doesn't look like your i will blame you
This looks awesome! And simple enough that even I could do it. Question, at the end you show more mechanicus terrain, including the walkways / flooring. How did you paint the walkways?
Thanks! All the terrain is done the same method as in the video. The trick is to be messy and random so it looks old and damaged ;)
I found this extremely helpful, thanks for sharing!
Pretty cool! 👍🏻
Very cool, my man. Great job. 👍🏻 You got yourself another subscriber
This was awesome! Thank you.
Perfect. Nice painting tutorial!
This is really well done
Received a load of terrain yesterday as an early present. Dying to try this out
For the algorithm!
I am new to Warhammer and I have the Kill Team box set...I am going to start on those once I finish my Indomitus box. Great terrain tutorials, thanks for posting!
wow great JOB!!!!
Ok, I don't know it someone will see this comment on an older video but: Did Citadel change the XV-88 colour? I really like the look of this terrain and I had a look at the paints in my FLGS, and XV-88 looks extremely brown, not at all like the yellow I see here? Or does it only look yellow through the camera/screen for some reason?
I think it's a combination of being applied over a very red/brown, making it look yellow in comparison, and my very strong LED lights so I can see all angles kind of blowing it out. The paint should still be the same recipe. Though I do have some old paints that I accidentally used in videos, making it hard for people to follow!
@@blacksailsstudio9238 Thank you so much for the reply! I actually tested it in the meantime, and compared two small wall sections, one with XV-88 and on with Averland Sunset (which is very yellow) while keeping the rest the same. The difference is not as big as I would have imagined, but I like your recipe with the XV-88 a bit better. I'll be sticking to it, it's my favourite look for ruined buildings so far (much better than the grey and beige tones that are used so often) and it's fast and simple to! Thanks for the video and the colour recipe ;)
Absolutely brilliant mate. Thanks for the video, just picked up about 80 pieces of themed and I'll be using your video as my reference for it!
very inspiring. I will be incorporating what I learned here when I paint mine. Thanks so much!
Great stuff.... what undercoat did you use?
This tutorial is the awesome! By far the best of it's kind. Starting to paint mine like this as well. Thank you! A huge help.
I'm thinking of getting back into Necromunda, so watching how you paint the little details I love is truly inspiring. However, I use much cheaper blackboard spray paint for undercoating (12 cans from my local discount shop for the price of just one GW Chaos Black spray primer), and use a range of different paints from different manufacturers to paint my figures/terrain. I get pretty much the same results, if not better at times, and love how they look when placed on a battlemat. I also make my own terrain from trash and kit bashing, so the fun never ends :-) Love this video, as Kill Team terrain is beautiful when painted well, with all the details picked out specially, not just dry-brushed silver/grey, then left that way. Keep up the good work, and I'll keep watching :-D
What is xv88 mate ? Can't find it cheers
It's a citadel base paint. Games Workshop will have it, or order online.
@@davechambers4867 I found it in the end thanks for the reply though Dave appreciate it.
@@maxluker691 I was looking for Mournfang brown too. Apparently Army Painter Chaos Red is a close match!
Threw you a sub. Amazing video
Your Tutorial was very good and the piece really stands out in quality. Thanks for the Inspiration!!
That looks awesome, i'll definitely be giving this a try!
Awesome video dude. I've been looking around for videos on how to paint my sector mechanicus terrain, and your method is by far the best I have seen for a balance of effort and quality of result. Great job!
Great work!!
I Loved the work. Would you do some Age of Sigmar terrain too?
Thank you very much for this awesome tutorial!!
Actually the best imperial fist painting video I've seen.
Do you think Macragge blue would work instead of the Waagh Flesh? Or would that take away from space marines?
Oh whatever colour you want will work great :) I chose green because my Ad Mech are green! Obviously earthy colours won't show up as much because of the rust colour, but any colour will work really, good luck!
@@blacksailsstudio9238 Thanks for responding and posting the video. Giving it a go tonight.
Great video amigo. I hope you do some more!
Hi there just subscribed and thanks for the helpful video
Really liked the way you did the silver. Super quick and easy. Thank you.
looking at a way of airbrushing my Dark Uprising terrain and this is the perfect excellent tutorial. I'll see how much I can get away with using the airbrush, but either way, this is brilliant
Honestly, after the black undercoat, it was quicker to drybrush, as airbrushes need cleaning after :p But I prefer drybrushing like this because you preserve some texture, airbrush can be too smooth.
Holy Terra! The machine I run at my factory is literally that same blue/green...
Gonna try this with the new Zone Mortalis from the Necromunda box. I really like this style.
I love the combination of finished effect with relative speed this particular set of techniques afford. Appreciate the insights.
Thanks a bunch! I'm a brand new painter, and had no idea where to even begin painting the terrain that came with my Kill Team Astartes starter set.
No worries, glad to help!
At first, I thought your color choices were mad...however, in the end, the results speak for themselves. It looks very good. A nice alternative color scheme.
Most people think I'm mad just generally.... :p
Very nice, as a beginner and up and coming Imperial Fists main, I greatly appreciate this guide. At last my miniatures can have paint-jobs worthy of an Astartes.
nicely done!! btw, what you do at the beginning is actually called "overbrush" :-)
Nice tutorial on this and the Sector mechanicus! A nice straightforward process. Priming with army painter colors would possibly reduce the need for the airbrush step🙃
Thanks, glad I can help! Yeah I wanted to make the point that it's not too important how you get that base coat on, be it airbrush or spray, and the colour isn't too important, as long as you don't have too big a difference between the base coat and first drybrush :)
You dont have a clue...it is not bad that adeptus titanicus is not usable in 40k, it is its own game, grandmaster box is a limited edition with everything you need to start playing, you get some discount on it, but you can buy a rulebook and a titan batlegroup that will give you around 1400 points and you get full game experience. It is much cheaper than 40k, Also the rules are different from 40k, much smarther, they put the focus in managing your units right during the game, even a smaller force, used right ,can win and the turn structure keeps you on alert during the game....you should try adeptus titanicus...
You've missed the point: it is simply more expensive and limited than any other tabletop game out there. You get more plastic from normal 40k boxes (and waaaay more from other manufacturers), you have way more variety in normal 40k in your opponents' factions and more variety in army composition within those factions. It's a really tough sell when there are so so many great games out there way way cheaper. I'm not criticising the game, I'm sure it's great and I'd really like to try it, but for a game that is super limited, it's just not gonna happen unless it's at a friends'.... but I don't know a single person who's even interested (it's what sparked the idea for the video)
Nice work! Like the oxidized look of copper on the dome, just curious, is that real fog at the end or how did you get that look?
Thanks for checking it out! It's a super secret industry special effect.... vape from an e-cigarette ;)
@@blacksailsstudio9238 Just curiousm thought it might be a Fog Monster fog machine :) We have a lot of game builders using it for their photography.
Excellent video thanks for making it! I will do my Imperial Fist like this as well, it looks easy enough for me lol. I hope you do more guides like this!
No worries, thanks for watching! I'll definitely do more, I'm just a little slow at getting round to doing them!
Great video, will use this scheme, thanks.
Thanks, glad I could help!
