Popped out of my ear on a foot bridge- Found the one large crack and drop to the water 15 feet below. They were under 3 feet of water for about 10 minutes as I climbed down a near cliff in sandals, navigated watermelon sized boulders, standing in 4 feet of water. Fortunately, it was on a rock, only 3 feet down- it made a loud home for about five minutes and then seems to be working now, although my clothes are wet from head to toe.

just sent my AirPods Pro 2s though a 1h30 cycle they were out of the case in my pocket in some shorts, I let them laundry sit in the machine for a few hours, so they were in wet environment for probably at least 4h, only realized where they were when AirPods fell out when I was putting the wash in the dryer, as of now they do charge in the case and play sound ok, but will keep y'all updated here:

Just pulled my right pod out of the washing machine (they were in my back shorts pockets) - put it in a pill bottle minus pills but with the little moisture wicking thingy & packed the remaining space w/rice - put the top back on the bottle back & I’m gonna wait for 24 hours. Fingers crossed- I’ll check back with you tomorrow.

I've encountered countless comments describing a peculiar issue with the right AirPod. Apparently, it makes hail storm noises before malfunctioning. (I’ve encountered the same issue) Strangely, my right AirPod persists, while the left one has regained partial functionality-though not quite as robustly as before its inadvertent aquatic adventure in the washing machine.

I washed my second pair of airpods pro…I found the first one has dried out completely and has been restored to full function after about 6 months. Hopefully the second one dries out over the next 6 months properly enough and works again as well…🤦🏾‍♂️

I washed them and unfortunately they dont work for noise cancellation and transparency. Although, if you turn it off and just have it on the normal “off” mode, that static, seashell is non existent with no sound.

My airpods pro are Damage Sweat in bed now it is nor good at the time The button but work 😭😭😭😭💧💧💧💧💧

I only washed the case for my AirPod pros and now they won’t connect but I can get them to connect if I have the AirPods on but instantly forget my phone once I put them back into the case

They stay in my ears when running and become unnoticeable. They are tight but comfortable. The sound quality is about the same as the 1st gen buds. They pair more easily with my LG G8 ThinQ and immediately reconnect when removed from the case. The sound balance is excellent, good but not overpowering base and clean mid tones and highs.Cons: The noise cancellation is good but perhaps a little less effective than the Bose ANC on the 1st gen buds. Passthrough mode as not as good as the 1st gen buds making it a little more difficult to hear conversations when in passthrough.

I used a heat gun and they came back right away. You need to be a little cautious with the distance, but mind sound normal

Can't do backups, because I use an SSD HD just for windows, and there is not enough space for backups, and itunes don't let me choose another folder (I even tried the mlink tip, and didn't work as well).

I left the buds only in my hoodie pouch. Washer and dryer. Yep...full wash and dry cycle oh plus 20 mins of bonus dry time because the towels and hoodies werent quite dry enough. I didnt notice them until I took the last thing out of the dryer. They sound totally fine. I was a little shocked that I got away with it. Its been about a week now and they are still good to go.

Airpods pro 2 : washed, full cycle of 1h20 min. What I did 1/Did not put them back in the case 2/ put them in a rice ball, individually each airpod and the case OPEN 3/waited 24h => they SURVIVED with NO ANY COMPROMISE... Everything is how it was before an fully fucntional. Good job Apple

Same thing happened to me..that is why I’m here and you are describing my exact experience however I am the wife finding her husband’s AirPods in the dryer. They had been washed and dried. I wonder how the reception sounds to people on the other end of a call? I haven’t tested that as yet.

I am thinking of getting the ultra with the ocean band because I pretend to use it at the gym, on the pool and do mountain bike? The alphine and trail loop gets wet when go to the gym?

Washed and dried mine last night. Did the exact same thing as yours. ONLY thing that worked for me was vacuum sealing them in rice for 12 hours. Works just fine now.

Yes, washed them in my robe. Discovered the mistake 1/2 way through the wash. Got them out and the right one squeaked and was sound distorted. Read in another post to take the rubber ear pads off and suck repeated on the open end. Sounded funky to me but what to loose? You can, in fact, feel air moving through them! Also used a hair dryer on them from a distance, making sure they didn't get too hot. Did this back and forth, sucking and blowing (hmmm...doesn't sound nice) but it did work! After a few sequences, the sound was back undistorted. Hope this helps!
