Thank you so much. God bless you. Please do more books 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
H.H Pope Shenouda makes the correct Scriptural and early universal patristic qualifiers and nuances.
Relative not Absolute.
By grace/adoption/participation we receive as sharers from our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ impassibility, incorruptibility and immortality in Heaven. As His creatures abiding in Him within His Church, we receive life from the Source of Life.
Background music is annoying but thanks good articulation and reading well done

Thank you for this labor of love.
God bless you !

Why did Jesus not know the day or hour of his return? He said only the Father knew. So if we say he did not know in his human nature but did know in his divine nature, then that is a Nestorian explanation. That splits Christ and shows two centers of conscience, right?
The idea that Christ did not know in his human nature is condemned by Chalcedonians, both Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox. It's too long for the comments section, but look up the explanation of St. Basil.
@@anc01901 Well, Chalcedon basically said that the was no separation of the two natures, while at the same time saying there was no intermingling. So they gave us a paradox. People today will say Christ didn't know in his human nature only. That is wrong.
It divides in thought or contemplation only. St Gregory the Theologian calls this statement by our Lord a riddle. He uses the analogy of someone clearly displaying that he knows when the day ends but not when the night begins. St Gregory also states that this thought of attributing this statement to the humanity is in thought only. It is a paradoxical (not contradictory) statement but this is what we find when we approach who God is. There are many other explanations for this verse that include Jewish customs surrounding marriage (only the Father of the groom knows), comparing the Greek here to the Greek used in 1 Cor 2:2, and comparing this verse to 1 Cor 2:11 and Rev 19:12. Also, keep in mind the omniscient verses about Christ including John 16:30 and John 21:17. We are talking about God here. When you study Him, remember what He said Himself to the Father of Samson "Why do you ask my name seeing that it is wonderful seeing it is too wonderful to understand" Judges 13:18.
@@MinaDKSBMSB Thanks for your reply. Jesus knew what the Father showed and told him. And what the Father showed him he made known to his disciples. IN fact, he said they are his friends and proof of that was everything he heard from the Father he made known to them (John 15:15). So the reason Jesus didn't know the day or hour of his return is because the Father didn't tell him. The reason he didn't tell him is probably because then Jesus would have had to tell his disciples and they should not know this information. As for John 16:30, for all practical purposes Jesus did know everything, since the Father would reveal the hearts of men to him, as well as truths about God, and even the future. Yet it was maybe one week before that he said he did not know the day or hour. So the disciples were acknowledging his wisdom, especially about the Father, which is the context of the passage. He was talking about revealing his Father to them (16:25). Yes there are mysteries about God, but why should be be content with a paradox or contradiction if we don't need to be? What we want to avoid is splitting our Lord into two beings, one human, one divine, which is Nestorian.
The word used for 'know' in Mark 13:32 is 'eidō/εἴδω', which can also emphasize declaration rather than ignorance. This same word is used in 1 Corinthians 2:2 - 'For I determined not to know (eido) anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.' Does this mean Paul literally didn't know anything other than just Christ and him crucified? No, it's talking about declaration, not ignorance. Moreover, the phrase 'Only the Father knows!' is a scripted response used in Jewish weddings. The bridegroom (Christ) would say to the bride (Church/believers) in response to 'When is the marriage?' as 'Only the Father knows!' as a way to pay respect to the father, by giving him the authority to declare the time, instead of it being a lack of knowledge.
Thank you
Thank you so much! God Bless you all who are working hard to publish this kind of recording. Thank you all again!!!🙏
Everything H.H Pope Shenouda III taught in this book is all theologically sound and 100% Orthodox
From a Jehovah's Witness perspective: The fundamental difference is what we view as an authority. Catholicism and the Orthodox church both claim apostolic succession and authority, just like Orthodox Judaism claims priestly authority to make theological decisions. JWs see the preisthood as a role of ==responsibility== to teach God's law... not -authority- to make their own. A central theme of the Hebrew scriptures is kings and priests grasping at personal authority and leading Israel astray. This continues into the priesthood declaring Jesus a heretic. So, when a priesthood contradicts what God taught or what Jesus taught... we consider following Christ directly is a better definition of "Chistianity." Yes, we believe he's the only-begotten Son of God (John 3:16), not "God the Son" (Nowhere in scripture). No, we don't necessarily think that governments and all other religions and teachings are "from the devil" necessarily. Although the example you give at 1:50 is. God said the consequence of sin would be death (Genesis 2:17). The idea that people would not die is a teaching from the serpent in Genesis 3:4. Romans 6:23 says the wages of sin is "death" and the gift of God is "eternal life." The concept that everyone dies, and the reward for the faithful is pleasure after death and the punishment for the wicked exceeds death and goes on to eternal torment directly contradicts both this and other passages such as Revelation 22:3-4 which describes a time in the kingdom where the dead are restored to life, and there will be no more mourning nor outcry nor pain... a statement that cannot be if there are billions in eternal torment. You're welcome to disagree. You're welcome to have whatever reason you want for your own views. But, if you want to explain someone ELSE'S views, it would be best to represent their views and reasoning for those views fairly.

Thank you for these video calls, may you be rewarded in heaven ✝️⛪️
The best explanation i have heard so far on this subject. However, i do not see the difference between this and what the catholics believe.
It will be better to mention the role of intercession of saints on salvation
This is so great! I love reading HH PopeShenouda's books and even the translated captions from his sermons; but this makes it a lot easier to do so when on the go. Much appreciated 🙏🤍🙏

Thank you for this audiobook! Please consider 1) removing the background music, as it is distracting and also makes the soft voice difficult to hear; and 2) recording the audio voice in general at a higher volume as it is very quiet even on max volume on regular phones such as mine. Thank you and God be with you.
