Hi PecanBaby, i hope you're doing good. My surgery is is Thursday. Three days. I started to pack my overnight hospital bag. I will be awake for the surgery since being under general anesthesia sedation makes me very sick. I'll have nerve blocks and twighlight. But awake enough to answer questions. Freaky, right? Oh well it must get done or I can't walk in the woods. And you know how much I love the woods. I will make some type of a video even if it's a shorty to let everyone know that I'm out of surgery. Hi Ron nice to meet you and thank you for watching and the nice compliment too. I had first made taco casserole. But I'm having knee replacement surgery in 4 days. So I made a whole bunch of extra taco meat. I froze it all. I took some of it out to make the soup, and it really did come great. I love making comfort soups when it's cold out. Today is December 1st, the soup kick off has begun, lol. Well thank you again and I wish you a wonderful day and enjoy your meal I'm sure it's going to be delicious 😋🫶☺️

No worries ty. If I had leftovers you'd be the first to have them sent to. But because of my knee and my mom is older now We went out to eat. I did bring home a doggy bag though, lol. I have complete faith in my surgeon. 6 months ago he did my second hip replacement. And he was wonderful. The only thing is with this surgery I just found out I will have a nerve block from the hips down. But I won't be under anesthesia where you're knocked out. I will only be given Twilight. I will be able to answer questions and be aware. But afterwards they say your memory fades about what happened in the surgery room. A little freaky only because I never had it that way before. But I'm positive going into this and with the love of my friends and family and our Lord above I'll be fine. Thanks again my friend 🎄🫂🙏💜♨️🦃☃️❄️

I found out I will be kind of awake during surgery. They are only giving me a nerve block and Twilight. I will be able to answer questions and everything while I'm having my knee replaced. I love cast iron. The only drawback is their heavy. But they last forever. And as long as you take care of them and season them the proper way, they'll give you one tasty dish after another. And I feel the pan heats up hotter than any other types too. I guess it's all just a preference, but until my arthritis in my hands won't lift the pan anymore, lol, it's cast iron for me all the way. ☺️🍳

@@backyardnbeyond well tell Santa if you don’t get a tripod he’s no getting any more milk & cookies lol, yep it’s frosty here now past week and a half minus 2c with highs of 3 but it’s been dry, no much sun though so it’s not like those frosty mornings that turn nice in the afternoon but still cold, I like it though, I’ve been taking walks round the river most days for about an hour cos I can’t really get in about the stuff I usually do it just inflames this neck nerve damage and I’m up all night in agony and I’ve put on half a stone so I best get moving something instead of just lying around, physio next Tuesday hopefully get referred for MRI & at least get some kind of analysis & closure, you know what I mean, 4 1/2 months now how dare they mess me around this long 🤦‍♂️ they obviously don’t know who they’re dealing with 😂, I’ll break my leg and see how they like that 😂, I’m joking around, right, no skipping or anything you & don’t ask me to wear a skirt and start dancing with Pom Poms ok 😝💕👍

@mikeyyoyo6464 I feel so bad you're going through pain and it's pain that I know all too well. I don't know if I mentioned but I have extreme pain in the top part of my neck. It burns like fire. And the vertebrae feels like it's at a place. I don't know if it's from problems with my spine cuz I did have my back operated on 2 years ago. Or it could be my shoulders, because the doctor said I need those replaced too. I'm looking to be bionic by the time I'm 70, lol. The nurses are always joking around with that too. But on a much more serious note, Mikey please take care of yourself. Your younger than I am, but it seems after 60 the name of the game is maintenance. You have to just keep working to keep yourself as healthy as you can. There is one positive thing with you and I, it seems we both have a good sense of humor about things. And that helps with the physical things that are going wrong. What can we do? We ain't spring chickens anymore, lol. We're oldies but goodies. Sending hugs XO 💜🫂☃️♥️🎅🎄❄️

I love potatoes too. There's so many different ways that you can make them. And they're good for you. I usually leave the skin on because they say that's even more better for you. And this was the first time I had ever grown them. Somewhere a normal size, and then there were tiny little baby ones too that were so cute. I threw them in a soup because I didn't know what else to do with them they were even too small to cut. But they all tasted delicious. And it was really fun to see them grow too. I love seeing them come through and I love hearing them. But sometimes they leave a trail of poop that you have to take care of, lol. How are you? I hope all is well. I've been throwing a lot of cooking videos out there because I could take breaks and sit down in between what I'm doing. My knee is really hurting now at this point so close to surgery. @backyardnbeyond I always like to try new foods. I have traveled all over the world and always tried to experience anything new. Only found two things I really could not eat. Balut in the Philippines and Durien Fruit in Thailand. They wee too much even for my indelucate palate.

@Snuffy03 I don't think I'd be able to eat those two items either. I've seen people try to eat that Durien fruit, and most couldn't get past the smell. The other one you mentioned balut, if memory serves me and I'm no spring chicken, lol, isn't that an egg? And it's real smelly and gross too? Well it's amazing that some people really enjoy these things and consider them a delicacy. It's wonderful that you've gotten to travel. That's something I haven't done. Well whatever you come across today in your travels (as far as food goes), I hope it's bearable at the very least, an amazing at the very best. Have a wonderful day ☺️🫶

Hi Mikey I just love what you write I love your sense of humor and your stories You should really write a book. I hope you're doing okay because I know that you have problems kind of like me with nerves and whatnot. And I haven't heard from you in a few days or so. I pray that you're okay. My surgery is a little bit over 2 weeks away. Want to know something freaky? I just found out that because I have sensitivity to anesthesia I'm going to be aware of everything in the surgery room. They will be giving me a nerve block from the hips down, but I won't be given general anesthesia like you get for most surgeries. They are only giving me Twilight, like what you would get at the dentist. This is going to be one weird day to get through let me tell you! It's either that or I hobble around like I have been the past year. And that doesn't work for me because I like to be outside. Oh well as long as they can keep fixing me when I break.
