Let me tell you everything the pilots did in this video. When the engines go quiet, that’s the pilots setting the Thrust to idle. This manoeuvre is called “Retard” this manoeuvre is done to slow the aircraft down so the pilots have the ability to flare the aircraft and sink it down. Flare is a part of the Retard manoeuvre. Flare is when the pilots will slightly pull the nose up to slow the descent just before touchdown. They do this for a smooth landing, and so that the aircraft doesn’t hit the runway roughly. Because if the Flare manoeuvre is not performed, the aircraft would hit the runway roughly. Once the aircraft has touched down main gear first after Flare, the pilots will do what’s called the speed brakes, spoilers and reverse thrust. The one you see clearly is when the engines split apart. I call it when the engines open. The engines do this to stop itself from functioning properly. Normally the wind gets sucked through and pushed out the other end, but when the engines open, the wind blows out the sides of the engines. This is done to slow the aircraft down and to have a smooth stop. That’s why the aircraft makes more noise when the engines open. Sorry if this was too much to read😅 I am an avgeek
