Long ago, the term universal design felt necessary yet a bit esoteric to me until someone explained that it’s a term from architecture. Architects think about universal design when designing accessible buildings that are also inclusive in the way all people can use and move through the buildings. Once I heard that, UD clicked for me!

I am a long term sub going into a new school. The school does this grading for equity and I need to know more specifically what it is and what it isn't. It is hard to find the information online. I think people are trying to convince experienced teachers that the old way is wrong, rather than telling us more specifically what it is. I have specific questions that are unanswered. I will probably just have to ask at my school.
