Using a Hampson Bettridge & Co Paper Guillotine
Переглядів 1485 років тому
Rescued from a skip , our Victorian guillotine (nicknamed Mother-in-law's Tounge in the studio) is vital to our letterpress work and every card is cut on it. She's missing the odd tooth on her cogs, but being over 100 years old we can forgive her that. // // Somepeople look at a machine like this and think it's old technology, but it's not that, it's appropriate technology. I've just picked up one of these guillotines so wondered where blades can be bought from? :)

Congratulations! They are great guillotines. If you need a new blade you will have to have one custom made. That’s not as difficult as it sounds. Google saw and blade sharpening near where you are and they should be able to help. You’ll need to provide the mounting hole distances - but they may even come and measure up. They should be able to provide sticks too - although these are usually plastic now, so I prefer to make my own from wood.
