RIGHT... 98 deciBels was the AVERAGE!!! I believe the question was HOW LOUD can it get? I'm assuming this was the dB level down on the field - not actually up in the student section where it's so loud your ears actually hurt (appx. 120dB+)

Nobody can rival Penn States atmosphere on a whiteout night. I don't care what anyone says. If they say otherwise, they have never been to a PSU football game.
I have been to a PSU game and I say otherwise. I've also been to an Auburn vs Alabama game and an Alabama vs LSU game and they were both better. On a weekly basis I think Texas A&M might actually be the best. Have you experienced big SEC games? Those are definitely better than the B1G.
I have been to an auburn game and it was pretty loud but I think psu is the loudest game I have ever heard. Especially on the whiteout game during our when psu blocked the field goal for a touchdown. It was insane. I couldn't hear my sister talking to me and she was shouting in my ear. Although I know that there are other crazy loud stadiums. Psu is the loudest I have personally experienced.
