Fall Hydroponics 1-2-3 (4) #hydroponics #garden #plants #motherofthousands
This video shows both hydroponic containers with their mother of thousands plants. I'll revisit and post updates from time to time so you can see how well they are (or aren't) growing in a hydroponic system. Thanks for watching and enjoy!

In this video I separate the mother of thousands in the smaller pot and transfer the two larger ones to the larger hydroponic grow unit. The smaller one will remain in the smaller pot. I used some rock wool to provide the plugs for the larger plants to grow through. Enjoy!

I need to separate these mother of thousands and will plan to keep the smaller one in a small hydroponic planter which I will show in a future video. These have been growing in here for about 10 days or so and hopefully the roots aren't too intertwined with the sponge plug. The larger two plants will be planted in the egg shaped planter.

I brought out an old complete hydroponic system which I bought several years ago to sell on Amazon. When I tested the product and wanted to order some, the company making them was bought out by another company and the price doubled making it no longer a profitable venture. I have a couple of them remaining and decided I'd try a mother of thousands plant in one of them. This is video #1 of set u...

This baby finch (or sparrow - I'm not sure which) found himself away from his nest in my grass on one of the hottest days of the summer. After leaving him for a couple of hours and his parents not returning, I placed him in a container and attached it to a tree in the hopes that the parents would hear him and come and feed him. After no luck for the rest of the afternoon and evening, I brought ...

Love it james!
Thanks! 😊
Beautiful male cardinal doing what???
He fought his reflection in my car window for hours. I’m not sure who won 🤷🏻🙂
Cool!
Thanks! 😊
Did you make your own nectar? I have that same feeder, I like the way you attached it to the top of the rail. Good idea!
Thanks! I did make my own solution just out of 1/4 cup sugar with 1 cup pure water. I heated the water on the stove and dissolved the sugar in it. Then I let it cool and poured it into the feeder.
@@SacredSoils I knew it! 😆
Thank you for saving this little birt ❤❤❤❤❤
I tried my best but was unsuccessful at saving him 😢
@@SacredSoils ❤️😩🙏
May have to call a local animal group or shelter in case they can take the lil one. Use a dropper or something pointed - idk I am not a bird expert - because it looks too young to feed on its own. UA-cam channel, "A Chick Named Albert," has some videos about how he feeds babies. Best of luck!! ❤
Thanks for the info and encouragement - I researched and did what I could but was unsuccessful. I think he was just a little too young 🙁
👍👍
😃
Gonna have to feed him with an eye dropper. Once he’s out of the nest they won’t bother with him. Put something in there for warmth for him. Good luck👏👍
Thank you! 👍
Beautiful and fancy gardens ! 🤗👍🏻
Yes - we are fortunate to have those gardens 🙂
Im growing my pie pumpkins on my chainlink fence lol and i missed one and had the same thing happen
I have thought about using gatorade bottles and other containers as molds for cucumbers, squash, and pumpkins in the past. Might have to try that next year. Good luck with your pumpkins in the fence 🤣
are you interested in doing for growing your channel?
I’ll probably just let it grow slowly on its own. Thank you though and good luck growing 👍
@@SacredSoils Thanks for the reply but if you do SEO properly then it will grow automatically for long time. Its good for your channel. you can try it
@@Mdalamin-ch8tv Thanks - I’ll research it more. My brother has also told me to utilize SEO - I just haven’t taken time to do it yet. 👍
@@SacredSoils Thanks to reply again if anything need just let me know
It was very scary
My wife was kinda freaking out! 👍
Is that sugar pumpkins
I don’t think they were. Many of them didn’t get very big due to the squash bugs and the extreme heat but the shapes were similar to sugars. 🙂
Have you tried organic insecticides?
I haven’t but I will for sure be looking into that for next year - thank you for the suggestion 👍
I stopped growing stuff. From bacterial to virus and bugs. I got tired of putting in all that work and the pumpkins wouldn’t make it
It is definitely frustrating to see all the hard work get destroyed, but something just keeps me coming back for more abuse from the bugs and disease 🦠
You need some chickens. How many would you like to borrow... I will throw in a couple ducks for balanced arsenal.
That sounds like a great idea! Thanks 👍
Did you use your outdoor electric sockets and did you use an extension cord?
Yes and yes. About 125 feet of heavy extension cord was sufficient.
@@SacredSoils thank you! I'm going to do this too!
@@pinkcashmere1908 Good Luck! I must admit it was quite satisfying 🙂
A hidden gem in the middle of this small city (Lincoln, NE). Thanks for sharing it!
A beautiful and serene place for sure! Thanks for watching 👍
Aww man. Maybe you can graft the branches onto a struggling tree? Not a lot of silver lining here.
Yeah it was too far gone and it was sad 😢
So sad james! What kind of apple tree was this?
@@randijo8190 It was a Gala apple tree.
I love you❤❤❤
Thanks 👍
Derecho?
I think that you are correct!
Tornado??? Hurricane is over the ocean
The winds were more like straight line rather than a tornado. We did have tornados earlier this year in April though 👍
Wow, beautiful!
Thank you 😊
They are spiders ???😢
They resemble small spiders when they hatch 👍
Babyyyyyyyyy
🙂👍
I think that tool gives you a great twofold benefit. You are also given the 😊opportunity to train for shuffle board games on cruises and clear out weeds in your garden. Happy gardening.
Thanks! I hadn’t thought about the shuffle board training but that’s a great point. By summer’s end I should be ready for a cruise 🚢 😀
I love science experiments too. New subbie here joining you in your journey.
Thank you for subscribing 😊 I hope to keep putting out videos that people enjoy!
When they would cut my great-grandmother's hair, they would toss it out in the yard. One day they found a bird nest made from it.
Wow! That is actually really cool! Thank you for sharing 😊
_Love_ mouse melons! One of my favorite ferments, too. Can't wait to be able to grow these again. ^.^
I really enjoy the tangy flavor and eat them on salads cut up and also put them in water 👍
You’re going to have an expensive bill from the hospital or a trip to the cemetery if you chew on that.
Yes - that’s for sure 🙂
Squash bug porn😮
I like the tape tech. The best thing i found out for my backyard food farming is i have a bird feeder now near my garden and a bowl of water, not too close because of seed drop. The birds stop by my plants and give them a good cleaning. This is the first year so far and no bugs and i notice the different birds hopping around my plants looking for them. Usually something has been chewed but not yet. Plus the birds are fun to watch 😊
Thanks for the great tip! I actually have 2 feeders near another squash patch along with my kale and so far no bugs there either. Thank you!
Great job!!
Thank you for the suggestion 😊
😮 that's a large area. Just spray it with pesticide
I could do that if I can’t control them without. Thanks 👍
You can tear off some of the leaf too, if the amount isn't too much
Yes - thank you! I accidentally did that a couple times but should be fine 👍
Yes thank you. I accidentally did that a couple times but should be fine 👍
Wow, interesting! Thanks for the tip. Duct tapes works for everything! 😂
Yes it does 😊
LADYBUGS. The best insect pest controllers out there by long shot. They sell them online on a number of websites. Especially effective in greenhouses.
Great - thanks for the tip 👍
@@SacredSoils You're most welcome, mate. 👍👌 I watched shorts on someone else's account: ladybirds act like an army and they're (if I remember correctly) the most effective on potatoes.
Absolutely true! Most nursery’s will have em! Be sure to release them at dusk or dawn.. just not in the dead heat of day. If they’re happy & have a solid food source, they’ll lay eggs & the juvenile ladybugs at even more voracious eaters than the adults. Just do urself a favor and look up what juvie ladybugs look like.. freaked me out 1st time I saw em😭
@@OoooshetriesSs Thanks for the tip!
Nice.
Thanks!
because of bee activity dont spray unless early morinng or late night
Great tip! I try very hard not to use chemicals on any of my plants - thank you 🙂
Squash the squash bugs
Yes!!
They're aweful. One of my yellow squash plants just died out of nowhere and when I pulled it out this morning it had borers all up in the stem.
I have problems every year with squash borers and squash bugs both. You might have had a borer issue as well 😕 I agree they are awful!
Stupid short. Some info would be nice.
The title is squash bugs those are there eggs
Thanks for the comments. I appreciate you watching and paying attention to the details because details matter.
Thanks for watching. I hope to have time to upload a video on how I will combat the bugs and the eggs.
I've seen some people skortch the eggs with a torch. And pick the adults. Ducktape sounds like a good idea too tho. Good luck either way
Thank you - I’ll try whatever I can to get rid of them 👍
Good job, you found the eggs before theyve hatched. Now get a bit of tape and pull them off lol
Thanks for the tip! I’ve never tried tape before 👍
@@SacredSoilsyeah dude duct tape gets them all at once 💪
Marigolds and trap crops are the only way to combat those jerks.
Awesome - I’ll plant some marigolds and research the best trap crops. Thank you! 👍
There blackberries
We always thought they were black raspberries since they mature early and have a bluish stem on the new growth. Thank for the comment and I'll do some more research.
Love hostas! Ours do great until the hail gets them each year. Three have grown a ton but one remains small. I wonder why?
I have various sizes as well. Perhaps a little bit different variety 🤷🏻
We need more people to move into tornado alley so we can see the dangers and damages
They certainly are destructive and unpredictable, that’s for sure.
It’s ok tornado alley is just moving towards us
Where is this? Scary !!!
