Thank you. Just gone tubeless with my new mountain bike, but i didn’t set them up and not done it before, so i needed a guide on how to "replace" them when the tyres are worn. Liked the style of your video, very useful 😊
Great to hear! Lots of info covered on this channel and a lot more to come. Thanks for watchin’
How often do you end up replacing your rim tape?
Probably about every-other set of tires. As soon as the edges start to peel, it’s time.
Where can you Park???
most will park at this main parking area and take an easy ride to warm up before climbing up: maps.app.goo.gl/PndS9cyUamHfqpR18
another place would be "top of the world" in laguna beach and then you can ride downhill to the start of Rock-It, but then it's a climb back up to your car - and parking is limited up there.
What kind of bike is it
thats the YT Jeffsy - a 150mm trail bike. That one is the Core 4 build with a Lyrik fork and GX AXS drivetrain.
@ nice I just built a specialized enduro
@@Parker-h6r great bike to take on anything!
What brand are those socks.
Those are from Mint. Check them out - www.thefreshlyminted.com
Nicole's?
Yep! Great trails when we stay in Burnaby.
It's great that you and other bikers were there at the same time. I see so few other people when I go. I alternate riding either my MTB or one of my EUCs (electric unicycles) up to Santiago Peak using the Harding Truck Trail. I'll start at either Cook's Corner or the Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary. If I have the time and "need the exercise" then it's my MTB. If I want do it quickly, the EUC is an amazing hill climber and the descent is tons of fun as well. I haven't been up there since the fires ... need to see what is open ...
It’s great up there. We’re really looking forward to it opening back up! It’s always part of our “spring training”
Scwalbe "tacky chan" is salivating! Push 11-6 ready to work! 😂
I've never tried a Push shock - you dig?
Very nice - that Masi frame is sweet
It rides really nice too
You're gonna be in trouble for riding your bike through water.
It’s titanium - what can happen? 😂
Love this trail, and am lucky it's right behind my house for quick after work rides!
Fantastic. We’re just a short pedal away too. Great to have this area in our regular ride options.
This looks like an amazing trail! #FuelMoreFun!
The whole area is just great for gravel!
Looks like a great trail, how have I not ridden this before?
next time you're down here...
Do you have strava or Trailforks for your route? Such a sick edit🤙🏽
hey - I do. this is the route from my day filming, but there's a ton more to ride than just the route. Also, it starts and finishes at Laguna Beer Co., for obvious reasons.... www.strava.com/routes/3288938674631971530
I am much more careful not to push the pistons out too much - they may fall out, and then you have a mess. Therefore, I block them with the worn pads, or a piece of plastic. In my experience, it's better to first wash the caliper with soapy water before using brake cleaner. When fastening the caliper to the frame, apply brake pressure to make sure you have good contact already. Don't forget that new pads take a break-in process.
Good call. Having hr pistons come out makes it much more of a project.
Where are the lizards?
Great editing dude! You're going away from what everybody else is doing - Awesome! Good use of camera angles and you almost make the camera disappear ( I only see the Insta360 once). Seriously, keep this format coming.
Thanks! Appreciate that comment. Its work to get it all filmed, but it’s fun… and a good workout hiking up / down to set it all up.
Nice video and great trail (ridden in twice)!
Thanks! So sad that the trial is (likely) now gone - consider yourself lucky!
that trail is so short
And by SoCal standards, it’s a long one 🤷♂
@@RideOC better off just doing luge laps / san juan shuttles / or merril/sunset/elp!
Wait, where is the part where you ride up the rock? You cleaned it, right?
totally. so fast that I didnt have time to set up the cameras.
@@RideOC I clean it .... never.
Nice trail but definitely watch for hikers and runners coming up. Lot's of blind corners on this one. Probably best practice to use a bell here too.
Definitely a good idea to have a bell especially at the bottom. I tend to shoot these vids during weekdays when trail traffic is lower, too.
@@RideOC These videos are all great and look like a ton of work. Do you make them all yourself?
@@TheTrailRabbit yes, I do. lots more coming soon!
@@RideOC Awesome, thanks for the great content. We have some spectacular trails here in OC, so it's nice to see someone showing them off. Keep 'em coming!
Ok…..Dude. I’ve been watching MTB videos for ever and you made it look like a professional film crew was with you with all the editing and camera angles. We’ll done. You may want to continue down this path, you have an eye for it. Just saying…..👍🏻👍🏻
Looks fun
It’s a good one!
I don't envy you the task of setting up each shot like this lol... But if I get down there I'd love to section film for you.
Ha! Occupational hazard, I guess. 🤷🏻♂️
Seatpost & shock too 👍🏻
apply it to all your suspensions!
I´d recommend to put tape on the side of the shoe and then mark the line on the tape. Much better than marking your shoe:)
yes that works too. after a ride or two, the black mark disappears but if you've got white shoes, use the tape for sure.
Nice rip! The “GoPro” effect is real on this one. That is a super chunky trail!
Yep, GoPro has a way of flattening everything eh?
Best to Replace the Chain Too
If it’s got some miles on it, for sure. This one has just 3 rides on it so chain is still fresh enough to mesh with a new chain.
Mild horse trails. If you want some real features please let me know!
❤️🔥💪😍
I feel like ive done this once and it pushed dirt under my seal and then scraped my stanchion
Good timing! Need to do it this week before my trip to Moab 😃
oh yeah - MOAB!! fantastic riding there - you'll love it.
When you are pushing pistons you have to open your lever bleeder because it can damage the diaphragm specially on magura
That's such a dope space! I'll take that E-Bike please, what model is that?
thats their new Decoy - pretty sick!
They need to open up demos on the MX Jeffsy. I'm a big Izzo fan. Did not like the Capra. I imagine the 29er Jeffsy is a fairly average all around big bike that wouldn't appeal to me but... Smaller rear wheel might perk that thing up and strike the best balance between Izzo and Capra.
I had a blast on the 29er Jeffsy... and I'd definitely like to try that Izzo for getting up all our steep coastal trails!
@@RideOC It's the best 29er I've ever tried. Still capable enough to ride the majority of trails you'd want, but feels like a BMX bike even with the wagon wheels and gets up to the top way quicker. And when you look at it on paper there simply aren't too many bikes with the exact same geo and travel numbers. The closest one is arguably the Marin Rift Zone, but that seems to not have carbon options anymore.
Awesome job!
Best tutorial ever.
thanks very much! stay tuned, more tips and trails to come.
Great coverage! Love how the video is done.
Thanks! Appreciate the comment and lots more to come!
Lucky you went when you did. I think that area is on fire right now. Gonna be a long while before it looks like that again and they’re saying some guy started the fire on purpose. Crazy
uggg. I was afraid of that. I saw on the news that the fire look out above this trail had burned... was hoping it stop at that ridge and didnt work its way down this side to the trail. this is/was such a great hidden trail (although not really hidden... just sort of unknown).
Yeah, this trail is gone now. My in-laws volunteer at the Keller Peak fire tower just a above the trail head, which is now gone as well.
@@chops0075 ah man. That’s so sad to hear. That trail was so good….
I love this trail and camping 🏕 there
I tried wax lubes on my road bikes back in the early 2000's and didn't like them much. I can imagine the compounds have gotten way better since then. I'll be interested in hearing how the FAAST lube holds up as you get some miles on it.
So far so good. Best to apply the night before.
Love a deep cleaning after a hot and dry summer🔥
Gotta get in there real nice n deep-like.
Super informative! And helpful!
doing what I can to help!
Thank you for the short and simple manual! I was always wondering what cleaning solution can be used and how to dispose of it later with no harm to the environment. Vinegar and water should probably go to the sewage with no issues, but not in the ground nor storm drains.
hope it helps! I'll leave disposal up to the user... there's info out there what can be done with each type of cleaner. use best judgement and thanks for thinking of the environment!
Nice editing! Good to see local trail videos with some flavor
Thanks! Any requests? Now that the heat is cooling off I’ll be out filming soon.
@@RideOC my vote goes to Camarillo and stagecoach south
Oh and Marrie Calendar
did you find you watch?
ha! yes I did! right at the spot where I had my little crash, down in some rocks. it was painful to do another lap, but worth it!
😥
Great footage!!!
👏 Well done! Made that look way easier than is.
thanks! it's a tough one in spots... lots of hiking up and down that day!
That looks super dry and traction challenged through those turns. 😬
Traction here in SoCal has its moments. Sometimes it tools up, most of the time it’s a controlled skid. 🤷🏻♂️
Nice rip! Haven’t hit that in a long minute. Back on my short list. 👍🏻
lemme know when I'll join
