Trou Aux Cerfs - Mauritius`s Wonder

The Trou aux Cerfs is a dormant volcano located in the center of the island of Mauritius, a small island nation in the Indian Ocean. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Mauritius, and its name in French means "Hole of the deer".
The Trou aux Cerfs is about 605 meters above sea level, and the crater is approximately 300 meters in diameter and 80 meters deep. The crater is covered with lush vegetation, and there are several walking paths around it that offer stunning panoramic views of the island and the surrounding mountains.
The volcano last erupted about 700,000 years ago, and today it is a protected natural site that attracts visitors from around the world. The Trou aux Cerfs is also home to a variety of plant and animal species, including rare orchids and giant fruit bats.
