In 2020 Shakespeare in Detroit partnered with the University of Windsor's theater department to cast The Merry Wives of Windsor by William Shakespeare which, unfortunately, was canceled due to the global pandemic.

My suspicion is that the play caused a sort of dual reaction among the original audience. That on one hand they thought it was a romantic/sexy story, but that they also laughed at the exaggerated nature of the transformation.

I adore LLL with my whole heart... but I would kick myself if I didn't vote on getting to see the Sam White/SiD rendition of one of the Bard's most controversial plays! I LOVE discovering new interpretations of that text

uhhhh wait. wait, wait, timeout! skin is oily as a result of not having enough moisture naturally. folks w| naturally oily skin need moisturizer more than anyone else. the better moisturized your skin, the less oily it will be naturally. if you want to combat the shine, use a foundation w| a matte finish. but if your skin tends to be oily you ABSOLUTELY NEED TO BOTHER W| MOISTURIZER. LOL it's like refusing to drink water since you're already thirsty. for blemishes, try color corrector, instead of just adding more + more foundation. + please, please use primer. ESPECIALLY if you're doing theater + wearing lots of makeup 8 times/wk under lights + sweat.

Hi I I learned basic stage fighting techniques in high school one of them was how to fall safely on stage my teacher told me to do it as like a Role to the side leading with the knees followed by the hips and then the shoulders we were taught this because we were doing the Scottish play I won’t call it by any other name after all our class went through performing it I mean seriously the girl playing Macbeth got hit by a car two weeks before the performance she performed with her arm in a sling an eye patch and crutches I think the cursed caught up with me a little later in life when I fell off a ladder I immediately pushed the ladder in the opposite direction of myself and there was a nearby Willow tree of which its branches branch I grabbed onto as well which broke After swinging me over some tree stumps and bramble bushes I landed flat on both my feet on grass and I use the technique I learned which I think saved me a lot of injuries the doctors were surprised I only broke my tibia and Fibia in one leg they said I should’ve broke a lot more bones than that After that I wanted to practice stage falling more but I have a rod and pins in my leg now and I’m a little nervous any tips

I am 65 yrs old and was taught how to "truss up" in a corset by my Great Great Aunt who wore them until her death . When we (my cousins ) were very little girls playing in her corsets. I think we were about 10 yrs old. I never forgot her words and you might like to try this tip. When a lady dons a corset, " You must put them on in stages to keep you from rupturing yourself. #1 lace the corset snuggly only. Tie off at the waist and walk around for at least 30 min. #2 - Lace up the slack to a very snug fit, but WALK around another 30 min., #3= Grab something, HOLD ON & SUCK UP. This way you will allow your organs inside to adjust as you reduce your waist, and you will have no pain or difficulties." Aunt Gladys was right! I have sewn since 2 yrs old (literally) and have made and worn many a corset and can reduce my waist measurement up to 6-7" without pain, eat & dance all night! I would love to spend an afternoon in that "Fabric Heaven". That shop could be deadly for me.

I love that you're not exaggerate the issues with a corset but at the same time you do talk about making sure to take that breath before lacing so that a person has sufficient room in their lungs. Corsets are extraordinarily beautiful but I can understand why they went out of fashion. How's the culture moves more back towards people being less of factory workers and other hard Blue collar jobs I am enjoying seeing older fashion trends like this come back.

It is historically accurate to pad parts of the dress. Or even separate pads are worn under the dress with some styles.

I was about to comment the same thing. It was not the physical measurement of the waist that was important, rather it was the contrast between the hips, waist and bust. Padding the hips especially was the preferred trend for nearly a century. In fact we only phased it out whenever child bearing hips were replaced by a woman's ability to work as a primary measure for suitability in a relationship.
