Windy Creek Acres
Приєднався 1 лис 2020
We are a family farm in Northern Alberta. We started our journey in January 2020. We are a mixed farm of livestock and produce. Our focus is on the Kiko/Boer meat goats. We also have a small herd of pure Nubian dairy goats, Bees, Pigs, Steers for meat, and Poultry. To keep all these animals safe, we have a couple LGDs.
Proper winter storm and a rescue mission
The wind was gusting up to 80 km/h and blowing snow right into the shelters. I opted to take everyone up to the barn as now their shelters are full of snow and they had nowhere to stay dry and warm.

We finally took the plunge and bought a gps collar for Toby. He has now started his boundary training so he can be a yard guardian. And went to a local grain farmer to buy grain for the rabbits and goats. Check out Blum Enterprises
Afternoon Winter Chores

Chores are very minimal here during the winter as there are no Doe’s in milk, and it helps that we recently downsized on livestock.

Introduction of Nubian Herd- PAST and PRESENT
Переглядів 824 місяці тому
It has been a long time coming as I have posted pretty intimate kidding videos without introducing the herd first. We started with Nubians back in 2019, and will continue to improve and shape the herd in years to come. Stay tuned to further videos about the many changes that our farm will forego over the next few months.
Vlog 01/Lets talk market/always improve your herd

Keep area in mind. We have a flooded market in our area of goats. Want to discuss the importance of purchasing good quality vs. “Pretty” goats. The importance of always keeping in mind and striving to produce better quality. Always keep the breed standard in mind and only sell “quality” for the betterment of the breed. Please educate yourself.

This video is a little older as these kids are much bigger now and we have more than this. But thought I would post this anyway. As this is our first year bottle feeding all the babies, I thought I would show how we make it happen

I will try my best to do some updates on Toby’s journey with us :) I am not a dog trainer at all and learn myself with every LGD pup we have raised in the past.
