A Praying Life | Matt Darby
In this message, we begin our Breakthrough series by exploring the power of prayer in the life of Jesus from Luke 3-5. We learn that spiritual breakthroughs come through surrender, dependence on the Holy Spirit, and a life of prayer. Jesus' ministry was fueled by His communion with the Father through prayer, and as His life was marked by personal and corporate prayer, so should ours be. This sermon emphasizes the importance of both individual and corporate prayer as we seek God’s presence and power for spiritual breakthrough in our lives and church.

December 15, 2024 | The Gift | Matthew 1:20-21 Today we explore the profound truth that “forgiveness is available” through Jesus Christ. While forgiveness is a free gift to us, it came at a great cost to God-through the sacrificial death of Jesus. We are called to receive this gift by faith, not just for freedom from guilt or escape from hell, but for the restoration of a relationship with God....

December 15, 2024 | The Gift | Matthew 1:20-21 In this sermon, we explore the powerful truth that “forgiveness is available” through Jesus Christ. Matthew 1:20-21 we learn that Jesus means Savior, highlighting that His mission was to rescue us from sin and reconcile us to God. Forgiveness is at the core of the Christian faith, and we see in Ephesians 1:7-10 that Christ’s sacrificial death, God’...

December 8, 2024 | The Gift | Genesis 3 We explore Genesis 3 to understand why we need the gift of Jesus. Sin, which entered the world through Adam and Eve’s rebellion, separated humanity from God, bringing shame, strife, and suffering into our lives. This brokenness is the root of our emptiness, loneliness, and the chaos we experience in the world. The good news of the Gospel is that, despite ...

Thank you so much for this! It blesses my heart that I am able to see this from overseas ❤
Great sermon Pastor Todd! 🔥🙏🏻
Amen
Amazing
I love the way old hymns have been incorporated in our praise and worship time! Those hymns are very convicting and have a powerful meaning. ❤
Amen. It takes a godly courageous man and leadership to teach the whole council of God’s Word. If more pastors would love their flock enough to teach like this we would have a country that looks more like the church being the salt and light of the world. Especially in such turbulent times in our world. Awesome message. God bless 🙏🏽❤️✝️🇺🇸
So thankful to New Beginnings leadership for speaking truthfully, respectfully, and Biblically about this issue.
I DO COMMIT to praying every day as you suggested! I have already been praying, but will do so even more now!
Thank you, Pastor! Your message was exactly what I have been hearing the Lord speak to my heart. Thank you for taking such a courageous stand on these issues. I wish every Christian in the United States could hear this message! My prayer has been that pastors all across the nation would be moved to take a Godly stand on this issue. I have been praying that God would light a fire in His people to stand for righteousness, especially in this election. You have given me hope that He has heard and is answering my prayers!
Question for you, Brother in Christ Did you start moving forward? Or were you trying to repay whatever you felt like your owed?
Thank you for a word in due season. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son… when we give and for-give we walk in love just like our Abba Father. I gladly surrender and chose to obey God and walk in love always, .Btw God bless your wife with the very best on her birthday in Jesus name and may the Holy Spirit hover over her in such a new way that she continues to give exponentially in Jesus name🙏💯🎁God bless you both abundantly ( John10:10b and Luke 6:38; Hag2:8-9) Hallelujah 🎉
This gave me chills! My Cornerstone. Amen!
❤❤❤
I was glad that Pastor Matt touched on how the church has begun to cave into the ways of the world...moving away from the word of God afraid to offend...The church is responsible for leading the flock of believers..not to steer them toward complacency of the disfunction that is plaguing society.. Kudos.
Agree. We need to be weeping. I do weep over how Americans have betrayed God who has been so good to us. We have been blessed more than any people in the history of the world and how have we repaid God? With rebellion, sin, and wickedness. Our sins are greater than Sodom which had no Bible. God help us REPENT of astonishing unthankfulness and ingratitude.
Love this!!! Great study of multiple chapters. I think a lot of people including myself needed to hear this one.
Great service. Thank you Pastor. I'm in Marshall.
Abilene Kansas ..waiting to load at Ft.Riley...I attend the Gilmer campus .but I watch the sermon when I on the road . 🙏
YESSSS THIS IS SO SIGMA
Great message
So good! Betting my life in confidence on the Lord.
Amen! Good News listening from AZ❤
The most profound messages that brought clear light to the gospel and gave believers so much victory, through His power many received Christ in Jesus name!!
Jesus is the enemy. Jesus ruins lives. Run from these people, kids.
Ahh, nothing like Christmas cabaret music at church!
Great sermon❤🙏🏻
Bless her and Ricky!
Does new beginnings believe in the baptism of the Holy Sprirt?
Is there a difference of praying in the Spirit and praying in tongues?
Great question--praying in the Spirit, means praying on a deep spiritual emotional level--not just academically, but with one's whole mind, heart and soul. It is praying with complete understanding of what you are saying and praying at a deep earnest level of authenticity and humility before God, seeking for our Heavenly Father to move in whatever circumstance you are praying about. In contrast, to pray in tongues, according to the entire long discussion in 1 Corinthians 14:1-19, means the person is praying but they do NOT know what they are praying. Specifically in verses 13-17 we read this, "13 For this reason the one who speaks in a tongue should pray that they may interpret what they say. 14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. 15 So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding. 16 Otherwise when you are praising God in the Spirit, how can someone else, who is now put in the position of an inquirer, say “Amen” to your thanksgiving, since they do not know what you are saying? 17 You are giving thanks well enough, but no one else is edified." From this, we see that when someone prays in tongues, neither the one who is speaking, nor the people who are hearing them are spiritually edified. Neither the speaker nor their hearers understand, yet the person praying in tongues sense something spiritual is happening. We can also look at the verse in 1 Corinthians 12:10 that talks about spiritual gifts "to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues." From this we see that not everyone can speak in tongues and not everyone can interpret tongues--they are two separate gifts. Later in that chapter we find 1 Corinthians 12:29-30 "29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? 31 Now eagerly desire the greater gifts." (The greater gift according to the Apostle Paul in 1 Cor 14:1 was the Spiritual gift of Prophecy--not predicting the future, but rather the forthelling of the Word of God--we should greatly desire this gift which we strengthen through practicing it). The pastor spoke about this concept in Eph 6 saying the Sword of the Word of God isn't just having the Bible in our life, but the specific act of applying the timely use of any portion of Scripture during a spritual battle or a key conversation. In contrast, to praying in tongues, to "pray in the Spirit" means to pray fervently and to pray in submission with God's will. An example of this is Mark 14:32-34 "23They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” 33 He took Peter, James and John along with him, and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled. 34 'My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death,” he said to them. “Stay here and keep watch.' 35 Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him. 36 'Abba, Father,' he said, 'everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.' " In Matthew 26:40 it says that Jesus "...returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. 'Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?' " So his his prayer sessions were around 1 hour in length--yet we just know the overall summary of his prayer. Then in verse 42 "He went away a second time and prayed, 'My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.' " Luke 22:44 says his sweat was like great drops of blood. The medical term for this is hematohidrosis, which is a rare condition that occurs when sweat glands rupture and release blood. It can happen when a person experiences extreme physical or emotional stress, such as acute fear, intense mental contemplation, or facing death. The blood vessels around the sweat glands constrict under pressure, and the top layer of skin may separate from the second layer, forming a vacuum that fills with blood. When the person sweats, the blood mixes with the sweat and seeps through the pores. From these passages, we know that Jesus absolutely was feeling great emotion, yet he was still praying coherent understandable words that he knew and comprehended. The great physical symptoms he felt during this deep prayer confirm his body was under stress. We can pray in the spirit without sweating drops of blood--but we might end up crying, getting a headache, or have some other physical symptom (or even just feel fatigued from the mental and spiritual effort) if we are very earnest and praying fervently with our whole mind, heart and strength. Whatever you are praying about in your life, network, or the world, may the Lord bless your prayer journey and draw you closer to Him.
Favorite section of this video 1hr14min45sec - 1hr15min30sec during the final statements--love it, very powerful and key imagery. The exhortation to walk forward and take ground spiritually in enemy territory dovetails with the promise in Joshua 1:3 which I feel can be applied spiritually to each Christian and to every place each of us goes, every conversation or circumstance. Thank you for this message from Eph 6
That was awesome
Thank you!

This is a great message. I am moving to the Longview area from Denver in June 2024, and am a deliverance minister. I have taught this and debated this exact message, many times over the past couple years. Thank you. I believe I just found my new church when I get there. ❤☝🏻🙏🏻🙌🏻
Happy Sunday to you all.
Wish you had included the final song in the broadcast.
Most of what you preach in this message is sound doctrine --- however, I take exception with generational sin. You quoted Exodus 20:5 but failed to quote Exodus 20:6 "BUT SHOWING STEADFAST LOVE TO THOUSANDS ( OF GENERATIONS) OF THOSE WHO LOVE ME AND KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS.". Also Exodus 34:6-10 34:6-7. "The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, KEEPING STEADFAST LOVE FOR THOSANDS ( OR TO THE THOUSANDTH GENERATION), FORGIVING INIQUITY AND TRANSGRESSIONS AND SIN but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and children's children, to the third and fourth generation." And Deuteronomy 5:9-10 "visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.". Ezekiel 18 also speaks to this issue. See v. 14-20. "THE SON SHALL NOT SUFFER FOR THE INIQUITY OF THE FATHER." Jesus Christ took all the penalty and curse of sin under the law and delivered us from it; a Christian is no longer under the curse because he has been buried with Christ and risen with him. To say we need additional deliverance from the curse is to say that Christ's sacrifice was NOT SUFFICIENT. It is a form of heresy and false doctrine called Jesus Plus Salvation. Anything that says we have to undergo an additional work of grace is a false teaching.
Amen 🙏
I do agree with that, when you pray to The Lord, daily and the heart is filled with Father God's love and Jesus, you will have peace in heart and mind. Amen 🙏
Keep me with The Shield of Faith on me, let no weapon form against me or prosper, in Jesus' Holy Name. Hallelujah Amen 🙏
