bro i didnt want to upload this... the commentary is so bad but lmao this run was fun af. ty to refrag for being in vc and to chat for being epic. goes without saying that this run can improve a lot so im definitely gonna be playing it a lot more but even ignoring the time that can be saved, im just having so much fun with this game that i wanna keep playing it regardless of getting good times ...

man this track is getting kinda destroyed rn lol. sub 1:30 may be possible with optimal character and driving???? especially if you do that last bit optimally as well as the weird drifting at the start of lap 2 going up those stairs. having a ton of fun playing this level so we will see what happens.

ok now i play actual meta character. can be pushed down further. that weird part where you want to avoid the spin boost thing and fall down, i fast falled on my first lap and lost a bit of time. will probably optimize more soon but want to get a good time out so i can move onto other tracks also.

I am now inclined to believe that Chao is the single best character in Ring Racers (well, when it comes to time attack anyways). Why is Chao so good anyways despite only having a speed and weight of 1?
They get the most rings from jackpots and the most speed from them. In a setting like time attack where you are always given ring boxes, they go zooming.

It's nice seeing this category get some love. How hard did you find Ultimate compared to any%?
I attempted this two years ago and struggled a lot. Got to black core 3 4 times and died every single time. With this record though, I got it on my first ultimate attempt stream! I'm better than I was back then so that helps but I think mainly what helped is knowing what my weak areas are so I could decide where to be safe and slow and where I can afford to play it risky and fast. Definitely a lot different than any% where you want to be just non stop speeding. Luck also helped a fair bit in the lasers in egg rock 2 lol.

Yep! I made it myself. It's mostly music from the Air Gear OST and some Jet Set Radio stuff.
