She walks upright because she was raised by humans and they walked upright so she started to walk upright and has kept walking this way since
Oshine must be cold
Oshine is my favorite orangutan. I love this cute ape. They are so lucky to have gotten her. Her human mom took very good care of her, and she is such a sweet little girl because of this.

That's Oshine. She was kept in a human family's house in south africa for 13 years - she was fed a diet of sweets and got VERY fat... She also had a tendency to walk on her legs alone like a human, and struggled with socializing. Thankfully, she's lost weight and integrated very well now, but she still sometimes walks around on her back legs!

@scott micheal walsh yes huge difference.gorillas are massive and strong but more docile than chimps.seen video of wild gorillas interacting with people in the jungle.wouldn't try that with chimps.probably become human bush meat.
