Minor Corrections. @1:44 M2/3 FH (Flush Head) x 2, @2:38 M1.6/3mm PH - CAD Drawing shows M2/3 FH (Flush Head) - Not Phillips
Great content.
Marcus, I am assembling an F1 what esc are you using and have you found any tips when mounting the esc to make the top suspension plate clear the electronics?
We no longer support Gl, they stole a few of my designs ending our business relationship. MWX has its one line of electronics, check the site for details
Lame! I am sorry this happened! This suspension tunning will help with the setup though
thank you for Informative video. Do you have a link for the o-rings?
search on the site
Sweet, that helps, getting the grease inside the knuckle was tricky. Putting oring on first helps trap more in there !
Julia Road
Where did you get the outside wheel caps?
Those were custom made years ago
@@mwxperformance Is there a way I can save it too?
@@and3803 no that was a long time ago i never mfg them to sale. i no longer support GL especailly since i now have my own F1 kit now.
First!
Good job.
What fastener did you use for the drag link and which spacers did you use for the steering pivot? We need you to talk a little more about the parts so we can follow along....
That what the CAD drawing on the site is used for. It identifies and shows how everything is assembled.
What glue do you use for the tyres?
Bobs instaflex
Nice as always!
WOW!! that looks so sick!
lookin good.
Thank you sir! doin my best!
Are you going to be selling those setup wheels pictured in the thumbnail?
not in the plans right now but you never know! i made these a few years ago
Great video! Subscribed.
It’s interesting that f1 rules for wheelbase are a range vs other classes with just a flat “98” mm. 112-116 is interesting.
We are 1/28 scale and if you look at the wheelbase in real f1 cars it ranges from 2600 to 3600mm. In scale that’s 108-120 It’s already RM28sa approved and PNWC approved in about a week.
We run 98mm and 102mm in the pn GtLm class. I ran 102 at worlds so it really isn’t a big deal in fact the only classes that are just 98 is open and mod. Every other class you can run 98 or 102
@@mwxperformance just wanted to be sure the differing wheelbase was still approved by the sanctioning bodies. Seems you’d want the shorter wheelbase here for better handing
@@TheShopMiniRCof course it is, this is not my first rodeo.
Will there be a video on the new MWX F1 chassis? Really interested in it but can’t seem to find any videos or details about it other than the website.
this week or next week, still getting the new facility moved in and setup
Marcus. The class is growing here on the east coast🙏 bunch of guys are out here running f1 this weekend. Thanks for what you do for the hobby✊
My GL RGT has used the rear shock conversion from reflex racing, can the chassis be installed from the MWX? Because I found the writing: will not work with the reflex racing battery hold down
I guess I am confused on your question?? If you have the reflex battery hold down it’s not going to fit.
Hi! Pretty new to the hobby and i was just wondering if this process makes the wheel disposable when the tire is done? Im assiming that youndonthe same gluing process for the front correct?
Yes it does
Volume real low on this vid
Why do you cut f1 tires?
Not legal to run f1 wheels tires in the open classes.
@@mwxperformance so why not run normal tires? Im a newb so just trying to understand. Thanks for the great tips btw
@@FPVQuadModz what’s a normal tire in your perspective?
@@mwxperformance i mean like an 11 or 14 wide tire. Are there performance gains, better compuonds or something? Does marka only make a 14 in f1? I just dont understand why not use an off the shelf tire.
@@FPVQuadModz the f1 5 compound is superior to any other Marka tire. Nobody can figure out why. It’s just performs different than a 14 Marka 5
What front springs to you run?
Blue most of the time
Such a nice chassie!! Does a hobbywing mini28 combi with the 1626 motor fit to the pod?
Can’t wait for this to come out!
pre orders open now, dont miss out on the first batch!
did u have to solder anything yourself in the kit? or the electronics are soldered already
You have to solder the esc to the motor. Everything else is plugs
@@mwxperformanceare the things u need to buy separately is the 360mah 2s lipo, gx-033, the tires, and 15mm GLRacing Motor?
I’d also like to know what transmitter u need to use for GX-033 receiver, thanks!
@@Tutel57 I don’t sell kits separately I only sell them as a build service. Visit the website for information mwxperformance.com
Thank you for sharing your way to do it. It actually helped me a lot to avoid that mess of glue i was dealing with before 😬
You are welcome
Excited to see what grant and the team put together for that f1. super exciting!
Hey, for the front of the car do you mean the yellow f1 side springs, or can you go with a harder f1 spring up front? Thanks!
F1 fronts are way too hard
@@mwxperformance thank you for your reply. What I ment was do you use the stock side springs from the F1 car at the front of the GLR? Or can you experiment with the different stiffnessss of the F1 side springs (for example blue F1 side springs up front). Thanks again :)
@@patricklippold2973 no reason to go stiffer than yellows. I have 1000’s of laps with this car! Myself and the rest of the team all use yellows
@@mwxperformance thank you, I'll try it out!
For setting up your steering, Do you adjust the trim first than the EPA or vise versa?
Trim and epa have nothing to do with each other!
Can you list what electronics you have in there?
Dm
Hi Marcus i have a GL and want to mod it with your system. What do i need to order to get everthing ready?
which Gl? GLR or GT?
oh sorry i have the GLR 3500kv gl motor mini28 esc and some upgraded parts.
Order the builders kit
Mod Sedan is hard body and pan is for pan car bodys?
Both are lexan bodies, you won’t use the bumper with a hard body but it’s still cheaper than buying it all separately.
Curious what your going to do with the new gl gtr. I’m about to purchase the new kit.
Mine is halfway built, it has a lot of issues. I will have a chassis and pod conversion to allow a GT pod to be used and glr side shocks in a few weeks.
@@mwxperformance thank you. Looking forward to whatever you come up with.
Considering a newish driver to 1/28, what would you recommend for the stock class? GLR, GT, or GTR? Appreciate to work you do and the effort you put into your products!
@@rayztoyz appreciate it man! Glr for sure
@@rayztoyz glr for sure
Great instructions !! I know that GLR pod install portion was because of me having that extra piece at the end haha
HAHAHA
Thanks for your reply! which offset are you using in this chassis?
Zero front , 14mm rears but sometime +3/11 mm rears
Hi! Nice video. Which wheel offset do you use to fit the GL GT lexan bodies? Does the wheel offset affect the car setup as well?
This is a glr not the gt. You do not match offset to the body doesn’t matter. Offset is used for handling not looks.
Hey Marcus! I wish you’d make these for the R246 motor mounts for those of us that run Kyosho motors. The fit and finish of the R246 eccentrics is horrible which is a big deal when running a stock Kyosho brushed motor.
Unfortunately, the MR cars aren't what i specialize in i have no market with them. if someone wants to buy 20 sets of them and send me a pod i can make them at dealer cost.
Curious if they fit a reflex pod and the glr pod?
Reflex doesn’t use eccentrics to adjust ride height.
Will these fit a PN motor pod?
I do not know
Can these be used in the GLF-1 as well?
They will not but I’m making them for the gt pod and I think those are the same. Will know friday
Thank you! Looking forward to it!
@@murich6677 glf is different from the GLF of course. will get some GLF's made soon
When you first spun your differential with the MWX eccentrics, I went to the kitchen, poured some coffee, came back to my computer, and the differential was still spinning !!
😁
First one here! Ready to get my mwx chassis in md
you were quick!! you should probably get the chassis before MD so you can have it ready.
Lookin’ good!
Where can we get the front brace?
Mwxperformance.com
Thanks
Hi thanks for the video, could you please provide more info on the polishing pads? I looked at Amazon but could not find anything that looked like you used. Thanks
I got mine probably 5 yrs ago for my real car so you may not find the small ones but just get bigger ones and cut to size. They are wax polishing pads for 1:1 cars
Thanks
So on the off set setup, does wider offset help with traction roll more because of the stance of the car or bc its making the car push more with the weird radius its turning? My thoughts are if it's traction rolling there probably is another problem causing this and wider offset covers /over compensates it. Tha KS for taking the time and going into detail on your videos. I learned so much i can't wait to fix alot next time at the track lol
offset has minimal to do with traction rolling. its almost always a setup or tire issue.
That's an awesome car for sure. I can't believe how technical it is to set up a car for racing. Thanks for sharing. This video provides great insight into setting up a car. It's always great when you come across a video that was made by someone who is so knowledgeable. Great works. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks for the tips about what springs you are using in the rear. I have been struggling to figure out a combo. Great video.
