@timharwood1457 I bet you have great memories. I've been going to Carrington since the 1970's. Had family friends who lived there. I always wished I could live there. Have you watched the other videos? I filmed every street and every house.

@ plenty of stories mate my mum would sit us up for hours and hours telling us stories about the old days and how she worked at the old telephone exchange and that im still going through all the videos but i am loving them so far takes you back to when you where kids running around the park and running the streets with all my friends

@@newcastlethehuntervalley i think these were always have been silent and have the news reader talk over it but that practise phased out in the earlier 1970s when NBN had their cameras upgraded

@@adriangregg9147 back when you could buy a copy you never got the news desk intro, only the actual news report. I know because I got a lot of stuff off them back in the 1990's. From memory all the actual broadcasts were never recorded by NBN, they were sent out live, however the reports were obviously recorded and kept. Unfortunately the only way to get an NBN News broadcast with the desk and Murray Findlay, Ray Dineen, Leigh Maughan, The Silver Fox and Des Hart is if someone had a video machine and recorded them and kept them.

@@gtrain2024 there were a few entrances to the tunnels, however all have been blocked off. Sometimes you can get lucky and someone has created a hole to get in through. If you watch the video in the link below you will see where it was possible to gain entry to the tunnels at the time the video was made. @@newcastlethehuntervalley Yes I saw the Lass, but I don't think you'd see the Morrow unless you went towards the train tracks and looked down the lane. A quick search revealed that it burnt down in 2013. Sad.

@@castleofmemories9874 I was there as a preteen. I believe the royal couple arrived shortly before midday (from memory) and were there for about an hour. I could be wrong about this though.
