How To Get The Most Impact Out Of A Beach Cleanup | Cleaning an Uninhabited Island In Malaysia
We found three decades worth of trash on this uninhabited island in Penang, Malaysia.
The Penang community cleared 800kgs of water bottles, ghost gear and even motorcycle helmets from Gazumbo Island. But beach cleanups cannot solve the plastic pollution problem if we don’t change our throwaway, single use culture
In this video, we explore how we can get more impact out of our cleanups.

Переглядів 3224 роки тому
Our daily trash is now concentrated ~100% at home. And you might be noticing how fast that trash accumulates when it’s all in one place. These are some of the ways I’ve learnt to adapt to the situation to try and remain as low waste as possible, while still prioritizing safety. Some of this may work for you. Some of it may not. There are all sorts of restrictions because this isn’t business as ...

Malaysia should set up annual national rubbish day, all citizen should participate to learn how to sort out rubbish and recycle and also clean up public area.

Unfortunately, even though this is a very good thing to do, this is but a bandage in a very big problem. Big corporations should have to pay and even get the higher ups getting prison time for the polution they cause. No bail.

it's crazy just how much of that garbage comes from almost exclusively a handfull of asian countries, some of the biggest contributors being china and india.

There are a number of countries where trash is dumped in the river for convenience and ships in international waters can do what they like also.

This is what just stop oil protesters should do and at the same time inspire people. It would also help the climate.

they are not intelligent enough to understand such simple things, they rather hijack trucks transporting cooking oil and be a nuisance to the public.

Love how it’s tourism and random people that causes the problems, and it’s only the locals that’s are kinda forced to clean up. There should be a tax for travelling, that this tax is solely given to local areas or businesses that are responsible to pick up trash, and another that focuses on ways to re use it.

no its the othwr way around. the locals just throw it anywhere ans these waste picking initiatives are funded by western entities

      @Cssfiend 7 місяців тому

It isnt tourism causing this, if you live in a developed country and have ever put plastic into a recycling bin there is a high chance that it was collected by a company paid by your goverment who then pay another company a portion of that fee to pack it into cargo containers and ship it to south east asia where another local company is paid to take it for 'recycling', but the truth is every company in that chain knows the real destination is illegal landfill that is then washed into rivers and out to sea.

1--The plastic is from other countries, often where they have no waste management. People in poor ares, where there's no trash pickup or sewage, don't worry about recycling. 2--They point out the recyclables, when actually those bottles are too degraded to recycle. 3--the manufacturers have to stop making single-use plastics. If we avoided them in the supermarket, we'd starve.

You need to hammer the water bottle factory to stop making small bottles and only make 2litre or 4 litre containers . Also you need water dispensing outlets and purifiers Nodes so villager can refill clean water

If that much washes back onto beach even more floats off to who knows where. Stop it in the river and canals first. Great work but will be never ending. Camiguin Island Philippines has 5 river trash Kabooms working 24/7 to stop plastics and trash BEFORE it gets into the ocean. Education is the key and we are taking this to the colleges and schools here also....you have a new sub,,,love what your trying to do,,,,Richard

Yikes! For me it was 15 minutes of pretty intense whipping, as a home baker I have whipped quite a lot in my day so it may be a practice on technique thing (angle, speed), my arm was aching too! Thanks for sharing your experience, it's good to know it can take longer so that others won't be disappointed, I appreciate it!

Hey we can also tape up 2 forks facing inwards to act as a whisk and incorporate more air into the mix making it fluffier. I never tried but i hope it does Update: it ain't working 😐
