Just ponder, the wonder, of OUR ANCIENT ANCESTORS ; We each, came from ' parents '. Somewhere, at some Point In Time, they were there, and all over the Middle East, starting in the Garden of Eden, where 4 rivers met ; somewhere. My ancestors, were probably of Scythian origins. > > > >> Grandpa and Grandma came from this area, near the Volga River, 112 years ago.(reddish hair - blue eyes ) (The Central-Asian steppe has been the home of nomad tribes for centuries. Being nomads, they roamed across the plains, incidentally attacking the urbanized countries to the south, east and west. The first to describe the life style of these tribes was a Greek researcher,, who lived in the fifth century BCE. Although he concentrates on the tribes living in modern Ukraine, which he calls "Scythians" (Σκύθαι), we may extrapolate his description to people in Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and possibly Mongolia, even though Herodotus usually calls these eastern nomads "Sacae". In fact, just as the Scythians and the Sacae shared the same life style, they had the same name: in their own language, which belonged to the Indo-Iranian family, they called themselves Skudat , which probably means "archers". The Persians rendered this name as Sakâ and the Greeks as Skythes or Skythai. The Chinese called them, at a later stage in history, Sai. Tribes are, almost by definition, very loose organizations. Every now and then, new tribal coalitions came into being, and sometimes, new languages became prominent among the nomads from the Central-Asian steppe. A name study...../ Thank - you, Mr. Haviaras, for the video ; and that ' special music '. Xcellent choice, for my / our minds, to ' ponder , while you wander around '' there. Take care, from eastern central Alberta Canada.

Good video, I used to visit South Cadbury Castle most years and walk the ramparts, also visit Glastonbury Tor afterwards, a good days riding on my motorbikes. You didn't mention about the possibly unfinished church they found back in the 1960's. I've always thought that there real Arthur would have been a psychopathic warlord who put fear into the saxons. But as at that time the Celtic/Welsh language was only spoken and not written down, only the bards would have told his tales in the halls and campfires and now unfortunately those original stories have been lost, like most of the Norse Sagas. Geoffrey of Monmouth being Welsh would have most likely heard some of those tales and added Arthur to his book of the history of Britain.

So the Greeks of the classical age never linked these structures to the Myceneans, that they have heard so much about (Homer's epic was thought even in their schools) and decided to call them " one eyed giant" made, lacking a more plausible explanation. Sweet. .
