When I first came to Poland - Warsaw in the beginning of the 1970ies to see and hear Polish made me think: This language never ever! Years later having fallen in love with Poland in the meantime I took a six weeks intensive course, studying day and night, taking every opportunity to talk to people. I was so excited. I learned Polish history and spent more and more time in the country. Now I own my own place in Warsaw, am still in love with city and country and am still happy to speak Polish. Unfortunately working time did not permit me to thoroughly master Polish but it is enough to have a good conversation with my Polish friends.

There is game witcher, and the game was big. This movie is not that. Netflix production first season was god. And there are of corse books, highly recomended read if you like fantasy.

"Dreams" wasn't first polish song dealing with this topic. There is another example - "Co się stało z Magdą K" written and recorded by band Perfekt in late 1970s, but only released in 1991 due to controversial topic. It is trully heartbreaking. I tells the story of titular Magda, who was a girl assaulted by group of men and then ostracized by her community, because she decided to testify against them. In 2005 band Strachy na Lachy recorded cover, which now is widely known.

Sienkiewicz was a very famous author, awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature for the novel "Quo Vadis". And as for "The Witcher", well, the song is performed by Robert Gawliński, a very well-known singer of the rock band "Wilki", and when it comes to the adaptation of "The Witcher", neither the Polish version and the Netflix version is not very good. Only the games can be recommended, but they tell the story that happens after the end of the book saga, not the literary prototype itself.
