Our crack team of dancers and a maypole - how difficult could it be? In fairness, they don't make any awful mistakes or get knotted by the ribbons! Many thanks to our volunteers!

Random listen from jersey
If you know their name I will try and track them down.
What a delight to see some familiar faces now it is no longer possible to come.
Great idea to repost this, able to re-listen with a much better view than i had from the back of the Church. Thank you.
A great chance to relieve this - from far closer than the gallery at the back of the church! :D
God Moves on the Water. Blind Willie Johnson recorded this in Deep Ellum, Texas, just down the street from my house many decades before I was born. God Moves on the Water
Beautiful!
Wonderful
beautiful. keep teaching
A great concert. Full of life, energy and good songs!
I'm here in 2024
Have you performed at schools? Because if you did it was a pleasure to meet you
a rendition from the Day Jobs quartet
Beautiful. 🎶
Well done lads!
Love the "bobsleigh start" where the last couple of team members have to jump in after it's started moving...
A lovely rendition Mr. Dan! Matrimony in the card room is the sugar for this song's too-savory medicine. God bless Stan Rogers and his legacy.
Wonderful.
Is this the "Town I loved so well" in a different language or a different song sung to the same melody?
Yes, Shanty Workshop in a Room...... :-)) Shantys are Work!!songs of a Sailingship! F*ck the Workshop for LANDRATTEN
I’ve heard a few versions of Sally Brown, but this one is for sure my favourite.
Good to see - thanks
Awesome!
Spot on boys, Stan would be proud 💜
Yeah--pretty sure one of them is a woman.
Great time thank you
Superb rendition. I was joining in.
SECOND WOW
Stan Rogers sang this song in D-major, these men are singing in E-flat.
People tend to do that to suit their vocal range. I have to, as I am a bass and can't sing in the same key as many others.
there's live versions of him Stan singing it in D flat, though the album version is in D. what now?
This is my favorite recording of this song. Sad it’s not on Spotify etc.
This song was written and sung by Stan Rogers, born in Ontario but had strong roots in the Maritime provinces. He and Gordon Lightfoot are two superb Canadian balladeers.
Dear Old Stan...
@@TimJohnsonBizNet3 The world will never see the likes of dear old Stan.
Don’t leave out Leonard Cohen.
Thank you for this content.
Well done!
FIRST!!$ they sound gooood
I just learned who john bromley is from a 9 year old video and I want more. I'm on a search for his voice!
I just learned who John Bromley is from a 9 year old video and I really want to hear more. Your voice is captivating and I'm honestly someone who doesn't really listen to music but I'm on a search for your voice!! Lol
He is one of the members of the shanty band called Kimber's Men. An amazing chap, you should check their video singing "Bamfields John Vandem", it's my favorite.
@@henriquekonradt541 I will! Thank you for the recommendation! I've spent more time searching for his voice than any other type of music (like I said I don't listen to much music) but I love his voice.
You should check out Jim Henry from the Crossroads barbershop quartet. He's got a similar resonant and powerful bass voice.
Well, I had no idea I was about to be a river of tears… 😭🥰
ok
Huzzah! Long live the maritime traditions of the Shanty! It was a pleasure to be part of The Best Shanty Festival in the world
Beautiful, great venue for this event!
Yes I had a fantastic weekend had by all
Thank you for uploading your videos, I seriously regret not being able to visit. But maybe next year I can make the trip from the continent over
These guys are just the sound I've been looking for to carry me through the end of 2021.
God bless the Irish.
Amazing watching this and the endless sea in the background........ amazing.
I once comented in another video that if John wanted he could make someone deaf with his powerful voice. Turns out it's the other way arround.
I just learned who that man is from a 9 year old video and I want more!!
To be fair, I nearly cried the first time I heard John sing
Im learning so much about nautical history through all these sea shanties.
If you want more about this story read about the Franklin expedition and the history of John Rae and the Hudson Bay Company. It's a sad but incredible story.
The brilliant Longest Johns & their wonderful harmonies.
i caught a glance of myself in the mirror after watching this video. i noticed a mustache that hadn’t been there before.
I'll take "severely underrated comments" for $2000, please, Alex.
His voice reminds me of the lead singer of Kaleo
This is a shanty that strikes me as an African or Jamaican shanty. Beautifully rendered.
