Falls creek family snow trip 2022
This was our family trip to Falls Creek in 2022. We stayed at Pretty Valley Alpine Resort and we can't recommend it highly enough for a family. For the one cost you get accommodation, full gear high, 3 lovely meals a day, a pool and spars and the best thing with kids is 3 hours of free child care every afternoon to give you time to wind down at the 2 bars in the facilities.

This was my board and tile breaking from my Taekwondo Kukkiwon 3rd Dan black belt. the first two kick were double boards and the rest were singles, and the roof tiles were concrete. When I went to break them I had acquires a cracked rib from the sparing phase. I sure earned this one. Not bad for a 50 year old.

Well here is a project that I have been keeping under my belt for the last year. A bit over a year ago my little girl asked me if I could make her a treehouse or cubby house. So without even thinking, I said “Sure, why not”. Because I have taught her that Dad’s word is golden. If I say we are going to do something, then it will happen, and if I say No, it means No and there is no point arguing....

This was my first attempt at making a movie for a major project at Uni. There is a little more work that can be done in editing but time is up and it has to be submitter. The idea for the costumes came to me one night after a lot of beer. My wife, myself and two mates would have onesie parties with my little girl and she loved it. The idea snowballed from here and I ended up spending over $3,00...

    Really intersting. Came due to an interest in history and because i have a lot of medals pass through my hands. I have 1 civil medal. I've only worn the full size the day I got it but wear the miniature a few times a year, and I've noticed the ribbon is not as vibrant against the full size when I put it away. A replica is a good idea. Will see if I can get one so it stays in good nice and I dont have to worry about loosing it. Thanks for posting !!!

    I wish I had of known about your service over a decade ago. I've always worn my originals, court mounted as I was a lid & fell for it. Yeah I know too late, the metal material issued by ADF ain't that great either, & I haven't looked after them taking them out once a year from storage... but wearing originals has shot down the 'stolen valour' lottery losers that come out to play on ANZAC day.

    Question, if the medals are on a board already, how do you add a clasp for years of service?

    • @flashstorey7552
      @flashstorey7552 Рік тому

      When I'm mounting the medals the clasps are stuck in place with double sided tape, then sown on to hold them in place. When it comes to adding a clasp, ideally I would remount them, as the way I mount them they don't come apart. However, no one wants to pay for a remount just to add one clasp. So the double sided tape that I use is VERY strong and sets over a couple of days and won't come off without thinners. To be fair, I don't really need to sow them down, but I do just to make them perfect. Cheers Flash

    Thanks Flash Mate, I have my Dads WW2 Medals, arrived 5 years after the war in a greaseproof box and not assembled. Sadly he died just before they arrived ( he was 26), I have treasured them all my life now I'm 70 ex Royal Navy and intend to wear them on Remembrance Sunday 2020 . This is an excellent video and really enjoyed watching you. Good fortune for the future looks like a great business and I am quite happy to promote this on our Facebook page facebook.com/BACAssociation/

    Hey mate. Just got some medals court mounted. I should have done some research beforehand. The ones I have weren’t too bad. They are stitched at the clasp to hold the medals but then they have added some additional double sided tape to secure them. Hmmmm The mounting board is some core flute plastic. Luckily I’ll only prob wear them for ANZAC day from time to time. So hopefully it will last. Definitely wish I had seen this video before I ordered them!!!

      Hi JB, Sorry for the late reply. I by mine from a wholesaler. It will depend on where you are to where the nearest place is. National Medals in Brisbane will sell to the public, or Christie's in Sydney. They are more expansive but they can be good for the odd items. Cheers Flash
