I've created this channel and my associated website (thebeginnerblacksmith) primarily to document my journey into the world of the blacksmith. Anytime I have endeavored to begin learning something new, I have always appreciated finding others that have journeyed ahead of me. Others that I can learn from - their successes and their failures.
Most times I have been frustrated - either in a lack of clarity when explaining something, or with an inadequate drawing or picture(s) of an important process. Maybe you share some of those same frustrations - maybe not.
I am chronicling my journey for the same reason I am a beginner blacksmith - because I have an overwhelming urge to work with my own hands to create something new and unique. To strive, sweat, and bleed over a work and to watch that work grow and mature. When the work of the day, week, and year is complete to be able to look back and confidently claim, “this I created!”
