That looks nice ma sha Allah
Hello I have a question my car stopped during running on the highway right after I started the Aircon. Could it linked to this sensor? The engine when I want to start is really trying to start up but seems like no gasoline is coming. Could it be this sensor is something related to the fuel pump? Or spark plugs?
Thanks man.
I’ve got the same problem but I think I may have to big of a belt, I’ll try tightening it but it didn’t do much the last time I tried it
iv just started my 325 1987 up and its squeaking on rev hopefully same problem and i can fix it
Tighten the nut. Will stop straight away.
@@akilleez84 which nut
@@dalynferguson2582 big 20mm I think, linked to a bar with teeth, near the top right, near pulleys, slightly adjust only
I would first replace the "chain tensioner" and then go to from there. You also need to make sure that you have the proper spec oil in there. If this is a cold-start then it is not uncommon for m42 to have this loud valve/chain tick for a few minutes while the engine warms up, the chain tensioner is warmed and properly tensioning the chain. M42club is a great resource for the e30 318is m42.
I had the chain changed. Had 144k on the clock, chain was slight damaged, and had some play in the links. Runs beautifully now
I had this problem for a while, it drove me nuts. Your alternator on the m42 has a bushing that surrounds the bolt that holds the alternator. The alternator uses a "tensioner" with a nut and bracket to tension the belt onto the pulley. Over time the bushing, and usually either the nut or the bracket wear down and will cause this problem and will no longer properly tension the belt, and will change the angle of the belt on the pulley. The way to eliminate this problem is to replace the "alternator bracket bushing." Most likely your nut will be stripped, it has teeth but they are prone to wear, so I would recommend buying a new "alternator idler nut." If you need to, buy another "alternator adjusting bar" as well, they're pretty cheap and come in black and look pretty clean. Replace your belt also if it's old. Good luck, it's not too hard of a job.
I did tightened that very same bolt slightly and it stopped the squealing completely. As you say it does need replacing as the bolt is curved up.

How do you undo the clip on the switch end?
@@Dando-1983 sorry for the late reply, its a plastic clip, can remove with a flat head screwdriver.
Turned out to be a seizee selector under the battery. A small black cylinder shaped block. £65 new.
Hi. I am having the same problem. Could you give me a part number and/or a picture of the cylinder I need to check, maybe replace? Thanks!
Is this the one maybe? www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/1j0711202f-transmission-fuse-eu-17233.html
@@frankfrank8088 hi, which part did you change to rectify the fault?
@@xshahid1987x Hi, after having replaced several bushings - to no avail as the problem persisted -, it finally turned out that at the bottom of the selector rod there is a small plastic part that broke or came off. You could only see that after I bought a used selector housing and the old one was taken out and apart by the mechanic. That piece of plastic, I believe, was there not to let the bottom of the selector lever to come in contact with the metal housing. After the plastic had broken off, the metal end could contact the housing and the lever sort of "got stuck" in the lower position when I put the car in reverse. Just like in the video. I learned that I had to move it sideways a little bit to release it back up by the spring. If I let it stay in the down position, it would still jump back up but with a bang, when I released the clutch. Ultimately, I would have had 2 options: To buy a new selector rod or a used gear selector housing with the rod. Since I had already done the latter even before the problem was identified, the whole housing has now been replaced anyway. It's working almost fine, except that the "new" rod gives a squeeking sound when I put it in 1st or 2nd, as if some rubber part was rubbing against plastic or sg similar. Not always, but often enough to be annoying. Now I still have to sort that minor problem out... Grease did not help, even though I treated all the potential places/sources the noise might be coming from.
My 1.4tdi fabia would not go in to reverse and sometimes in second gear. It was parked up for a long time and the plastic selector got seized. Had the selector changed and job done. (Old one was stuck and had to be taken out in bits)

have you fixed this problem?
Who has actually been charged for these murders of the three asian men in Birmingham riots? The police arrested so many "suspects" then let them go. The last we hear is they have pinned the three murders on some homeless guy. It all sounds so convenient. There needs to be a citizen's inquiry. Does no one find the orchestration of these riots at little too well planned. Were they "encouraged to happen" by political forces?
