Nothing like this near me 😢
@@MadMartysMovieReviews-gv6hkThat sucks 😢 This is really the only decent place near me but once you’ve dug through everything , you find less and less gems as you go there. I did find a Marlon Brando set in there yesterday though which I grabbed !
Have you seen ‘Taffin’ a 1988 action/thriller starring Pierce Brosnan? The film is set in Ballymoran. Well worth checking out! 👍🏻👍🏻
@@outpost3178 Hey! No I have never even heard of it but I’m going to look it up and add to the list 😃 Thanks for the recommendation and for watching ☺️☺️
A recent wartime film that I watched and thought was amazing was Land of mine. It seems like it went under the radar a bit but it absolutely blew me away 😊
@@spoonermum Heya thanks for watching 😃 I never heard of that movie but I just looked it up and it looks really good! I’d definitely be interested to check that out thanks for the recommendation 😃
Hello dolly is fantastic i adore Barbra streisand not seen gypsy, yeah karen black is always good, not seen affliction before seems interesting,
@@stuartgeorge2324 Hey Stuart thanks a million for watching, I agree Hello Dolly was brilliant, so enjoyable. Barbra Streisands voice is just 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 Definitely would recommend Affliction if you like dark family drama style movies, Nick Nolte also knocks it out of the park in it. Thanks again ☺️
Your action adventure collection just blew up Jodie. Bummed you didn't like Sahara, its one of my favorites.
@@HaveCheetahWillView It sure did! Not usually a genre I’m into but delighted to have more movies to explore 😃 Aw that’s great that you enjoy Sahara, I remember it not being my cup of tea at all but I may revisit it at some point 😀 Thank you for watching 🙏🏻☺️
I just watched the substance last night ! Insane filmmaking.

Great video Jodie 👍🏻 really glad u enjoyed Bone tomahawk 😅
@@popcornandhorror Hey Ash thanks so much for watching ☺️☺️ thanks for the kind comment! Yes I absolutely loved it, can’t believe I hadn’t watched it before. I’d love to watch more similar movies to that, if they exist!!
Can't say I've heard of many of those, I need to start getting into other genres aside horror 😊 Tales from the hood is a great set from BFI, you should have a limited edition number on there somewhere 👍
@@bumpersmovies Hey there thanks so much for tuning in and for your comment 😃 it’s great to watch different genres but if you love horror and it makes you feel good and gets you excited about film, then you should keep going with it 😃 I do love horror aswell and many of my favourite ever movies are horrors. Looking forward now to checking out the Tales from the hood set, think this will be on my list for this week to watch 😃
Happy NY Jodie, interesting video. Think planning is good, easy getting caught up in life and can be good to take a step back and have some perspective. People don't know which films to get me at Xmas either. Haven't watched The Landlord though Roy Barratt has spoke about it really positively, shame about the case though. The Wickerman book looks excellent. Would recommend Korea as the greatest country putting out films in different genres. Michael Haneke is a real artist, would recommend Hidden. Watched Possession, wasn't a fan though intense acting. Westerns are my NY resolution to watch more of, my grandad was the same. Really enjoyed this video, here is to a great 2025 on your channel. Expecting it to grow and deservedly so. R Point is a Korean war film with horror elements I would recommend so tick two boxes there
@@timcole418 Heya Tim, Many happy returns to you! Hope your 2025 is getting off to a great start 🙏🏻 I had tried to watch the Landlord before on UA-cam but I thought Hal Ashby deserved more than a shitty quality video so it needed a Blu ray upgrade to watch properly 😃 Thanks so much for the movie recommendation, I just looked up that movie R Point and it sounds really interesting. I can’t say I’ve delved into Korean film at all but I’d definitely be open to giving a few movies a go to expand my horizons 😃 I actually have Hidden on dvd and have had it for years but haven’t watched it, it’s definitely time to crack that one open and give it its due maiden viewing! I love that your grandad was also into Westerns, it was a staple on the TV for us at home but I never gave any of the movies a minutes notice but loving them now. Looking forward to seeing what Westerns you add to your watched movies for the year and hopefully you’ll have some great recs to share with us all 😃 Thanks so much again for watching and for your kind comment. Hopefully your channel will continue to succeed and grow this year you deserve it!! 🙏🏻take care!

Some good watches there Jodie, except for La Llorana 😂 If you enjoyed trilogy of Terror, there is a good sequel that was made in the 90s with Lysette Anthony starring in all 3 shorts. Also Dead of Night from 1977 is on tubi and that's another good anthology movie. Cheers

Great video Jodie. I love The Snowman but haven't seen it in years. I love all of The Santa Clause films, definitely ones I can watch every year it's a shame only the third one is easily available on blu-ray. Loved Keeping up Appearances, i think Patricia Routledge was excellent and like you say Hyacinth is one of the most iconic British sitcom characters. Hi Jodie, Fellow Irish gal here (although i'm up in the North). Sam told me about your channel. LOVED all your choices. Keeping up Appearances and One foot in the grave are staples. I absolutely adore them. Muppets Christmas Carol is on every Christmas morning in our house while presents are being opened (Its actually my favourite rendition of A Christmas Carol - and I love that story so much!). I was a blubbering mess when I left the cinema after seeing the most recent 'A Star is Born'. It was my No1 movie that year (beating Bohemian Rhapsody which was something given how huge a Queen fan I am). I haven't actually seen the original or the 70s versions. I need to sort that out. @ very odd indeed!
Hey Jodie. Have now watched these 3 haul videos. Your previous mystery haul for 25 euros was clearly the more exciting one but this was still a good way to add a number of standard releases to your collection. Maybe with all the Schawarzenegger, Statham and Van Damme movies you are now becoming an action movie fan. To my mind the most exciting thing you picked up in this haul was perhaps True Detective season one, which if you haven’t seen is definitely worth watching.
@@neilsmoviechannel3199 I definitely agree, I got way more niche and interesting items in the last mystery haul but there is still a few titles that I’ll be keeping to watch( a lot that I’ll be parting with straight away!) I actually have more to come aswell so hopefully I’ll get part 4 up soon and it looks like there’s more action to come 🙈 I never thought I’d have so many action movies come my way but it’s always good to get out of my comfort zone! I agree about the True Detective, Ive actually never watched it but heard amazing things about it so definitely one for the watch list👍Thanks again for tuning in ☺️☺️

A great part 2 video, Jodie. What an exciting day that was to find out what you picked up. I’m particularly envious of the Tarzan set, a nicer one than mine. Again Weissmuller Tarzan movies were always on weekend morning tv when I was young. As was Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes, that’s another great looking set. And you really did well on the western set. There’s a pricey edition by Criterion of the Lone Wolf & Cub movies, you should be able to get a good price for that set. I’m guessing those triple movies by 23rd century are not great quality sound and picture? Congrats on the haul though, 25 euros very well spent
Wow, Jodie you did really well with this haul. I hope you have kept and explored some of the Laurel & Hardy set. For a short movie of theirs try The Music Box, and feature length movies Way out West and Our Relations. Those Buster Crabbe Flash Gordon episodes were what I used to watch on Saturday morning tv when I was very young, great fun. Funny that you had only mentioned in a previous video wanting to find the Dirty Harry series. And that’s a great John Wayne set. The FuManchu movies were remastered and put out by Indicator and the Samurai trilogy is one that has been issued by Criterion. Fantastic, I must watch part 2 now!
@@neilsmoviechannel3199 aw thanks for the watch I was over the moon with this haul 🥹 to be honest I haven’t even started on the laurel and hardy set yet, I have so much to watch that it’s intimidating starting a big box like that 😨 The John Wayne set is great because I’ve been trying to get more into Westerns and John Wayne and John Ford are great places to start. I do want to check out the movie Shane , I know you talk very highly about it so I’m keeping an eye out for it on my thrifting trips 😃
Hi there Jodie, that's a really impressive Black Friday Haul. Not sure if Thanksgiving is celebrated in the UK, but I do hope you had a wonderful kickoff to the Christmas season. Billy Wilder's The Apartment is one of his more unusual films but is still quite impressive and well made. My only complaint is that Fred MacMurray stopped playing good roles after one fan's harsh reaction to his character in the film. I know it hard to separate the actor/actress from the real-life person at times, but jeez. Arrow has a Blu Ray out of the film. Barbarella is trippy movie, and it's that trippy weirdness that compels viewers to give it a look. The director Roger Vadim, who was Jane Fonda's husband at the time, was more known for arthouse style cinema at the time, so seeing him do a more audience friendly genre film also adds to Barbarella's allure. Arrow did a stellar 4K release of it recently. I've seen it a couple of times and still have trouble understanding what in the world I'm looking at. Convey is considered by some to be Sam Peckinpah's last great film. I haven't seen it myself yet, but the premise sounds very good, and Ali McGraw was an underrated actress in my opinion. Could never get the appeal of Kris Kristofferson, but he's done OK in the few films I have seen him in. StudioCanal put out a 4K steelbook of it over the summer I believe. The BFI is a great institution, film company, and film label, they've done impressive work. I only have their release of Abel Gance's Napoleon on Blu Ray, but I do hope to get more soon. Indicator/Powerhouse has been doing stellar work as well, I recently got some items in their 3 for 20 bargain and added some Hammer films to my collection. Single White Female is one of the creepiest 90's films I can remember reading about and seeing a little of. Briget Fonda and Jennifer Jason Leigh both give powerhouse performances. Their climatic battle is often recreated by actors in stage combat workshop finals. Arrow and Criterion have been up and down for me in terms of releases as of late late, but they still do good stuff. The Last of Shelia is a really impressive Crime/Mystery Thriller with a great cast in James Coburn, James Mason, Raquel Welch, Joan Hackett, Dyan Cannon, and Richard Benjiman. Take care, hope you're well, and speak to you soon.
@@tvnash Hey there thanks so much for watching and for your great comment, we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in my neck of the woods but I wish you a very happy belated Thanksgiving if you celebrate 🦃 I’m so excited to check out the Apartment and Barbarella so thanks for filling me in on those facts I love having a bit of context going into a movie and Im pretty sure I’ve never seen any of Roger Vadims movies before so this will be a new experience for me. Also can’t wait to watch Convoy, I’m a fan of Peckinpah and enjoying getting through his filmography. I love the allure behind him too as an auteur it sounded like he was a nightmare to deal with but a genius all the same. Agree about Ali Macgraw, very underrated talent. Have you seen her in Goodbye Columbus? Interesting role that! I just watched Single White Female and I absolutely loved it, exactly the perfect level of psycho that I was expecting 😂 I love that genre of thriller too it was *chefs kiss* Thanks again so much for watching and for your thoughts I really appreciate it 🙏🏻 Have an amazing day ❤️
Nice collection, Jodie. I hardly have any Eureka nor Arrow titles but love Indicator and BFI. I’m envious of you having Sunday Bloody Sunday as I have not yet been able to get a copy. I have the Criterion of Eyes Without a Face but that BFI edition looks great. I’m not commenting on all your videos but am enjoying gradually catching up, especially seeing the movies you have been able to track down
@@neilsmoviechannel3199 Thanks so much ☺️ I’ve added a few to this collection since this video but they’re all documented as far as I remember on video 😃 I really love those BFI releases and there does seem to be a good deal on the Sunday Bloody Sunday Blu ray at the moment on Amazon but not sure how much shipping would cost to your neck of the woods 🤔The Eureka label is also really cool they have lots of very early movies from 20s, 30s etc that I also want to explore but I’ve enough to keep me going for the moment!
Awesome pick up's there mate.👍
@@DeonCrawley thanks so much for watching! 😃 I’m delighted with the pick ups now I must say ☺️
