FO4 gave me that habit too, going back to NV is a struggle to not hoard everything not nailed down. I try to just vacuum up the stuff for weapon repair kits and shove it in the inventory of my companion until I craft them all into kits. If I didn't limit myself I would be obsessing over every little maybe useful thing and clogging my house storage every 20 minutes For playing through 4, I just caved and installed mods to help with the junk problem. I think weightless junk was the main one I used, it did skip a few items (gas cans I remember because they wrigh 3 or 5 and it always irritated me they got skipped) but hey, I can carry five tons of screws and enough adhevise to make a glue factory jealous

it is my second favorite fallout game at this point, fallout 4 is my first only by a little bit because of the mods

yeah, heavy early game is just speedrun. grab the shotty, grab the generic minigun, get to vegas. house ending, avenger minigun, the unique powerfists, all secondary missions set up as contracts, arcade story due to his orbiting around medics, and NCR if we see house as the equivalent of grey mann you could argue some extra objectives, like grabbing all "free" unique headwear and comparable weapons, like the golden boxing glove but yeah, heavy being the saner member of his team and the straightman all around really isn't a coomplex starting point for a run
