I just found you. The PTSD from the first time with the Orange Idiot is surfacing again. Seeing the sadness in your face at the beginning made me cry. It is too much. I weaned myself off an SSRI in August after being on it since 2014 and I am trying to reframe my mind so I do not revert back to 2016 trauma. Thank you for being here.❤❤❤

Thanks! I needed this. I pulled the tower the day of the election and I shoved it back in the deck so fast. I didn’t want to accept it. Now I am looking to tarot to comfort me, but also to motivate me to get in the fight. Today’s card was 9 of Wands, exactly what I needed!

Jennifer - thank you - so lovely of you to think to do this video of decks to go to in times of discomfort! Could not be more needed and helpful. My immediate deck was the Gentle Tarot. It is not a a hug deck but it is comforting exactly as you describe. The big book is not only deeply meaningful, but I think the most beautiful guidebook ever. Mari's art work is through out the guide book as well. You are correct she has a kick starter going right now for an oracle and lots of You Tube videos of her being interviewed and showing the prototype are online now presently. Lisa Papez did a walk through of her copy of the prototype that is quite good. Mari is offering bundles in the Kick starter and I believe she mentions that this is the time to get the Guide Book if you want it, as it will soon be out of print. Sorry to go on so long - but her decks are amazing and I feel the necessity to gush over them. Again, thank you for your timely video - I wish you well. Peace - Michelle

My comfort decks are the Pastoral Tarot and Whispers of the Ocean Oracle. The Pastoral Tarot because I'm originally from Nebraska and sometimes I feel the need for anything prairie and rural life and the Whispers of the Ocean whenever I need the healing of the ocean. And I really need it now!!

I wonder why we'd need a comforting deck today (or the next 4 years) 😔 ohhhh yeah, loads of women, LGBTQIA+, and people of color in this space of ours. Keep hope alive, friends. Take it one day at a time. Thank you for this video

Thank you for this sweet post. It's one I needed today. I gave gone to a few decks in the last couple of days. Two for me, just because they were my first decks, are the Morgan Greer and the Aquarian. These two almost always remind me of why I started and how the community was way back when. It was so different before the internet. Sweet Foragers Tarot is my answer to Squidcake. I just don't do Marseille. Not really for years. I almost got Squidcake several times, I was so drawn to it's sweetness. When the Sweet Foragers came out, I got that one instead and have not regretted it for one second. It's small. The color scheme is full of pinks, soft greens, dusky lavenders and blues. I waited until after spooky season to start working with Lisa's deck so I was glad to see it on your list. Monstarot is perfect deck for needing comfort. I don't have her bug oracle. Why not? I should correct that. When the Gummy Bear deck came out I was delighted. When that deck was new I was teaching a lot of tarot and giving a lot of tarot talks. My local occult shop could not keep that deck in, partly because I could not quit talking it, it just made me smile. I am sitting here with my Sweet Foragers next to me on the bed, I am ready to move to a comfy chair. I'll grab a couple of decks, probably Monstarot and The Unicorn's Journey and my softest blanket. I too am a spoonie and have been hit really hard the last few days.

I’ve been having a lot of ups & downs during the past few months & the Therapets deck always seems to give me that needed hug! Not my typical aesthetic but it works ❤

For me I reach for the Superlunaris and the Therapets when I need a hug. 🥰

I like both decks and will get them to see how they feel. I love the use of oracle decks more so than ever the traditional tarot.

I love the soft colors in this deck. I think I may need to get this one. I love that they describe the Yokai of each card in the guidebook and relate it to the meaning. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the flip through and review. I love the dark and moody imagery but I agree with you, many of the cards look so much alike. And I’m also not fond of the repeated pieces of literature. Either way, it’s a lovely looking deck.

I am so happy that that 400gsm card stock fad seems to be fading. I have several decks that I think I would just love if it wasn't for that lousy card stock. Not only is shuffling those a nightmare but that heavy stock knocks around, chips, the edges get wider and if a card bends too far it usually creases. Bleck!
