Sunday drive to soothe the soul. A little fresh air, some mud on the tires, and giggles with my love. Doesn’t get much better than this.

Washed up the Tacoma and headed out for an eventful day. Drooling on some amazing cars and then helping a local radio station do some much needed trail cleaning.
New window, car show, no lights and a fire. Excitement for Turbo and friends.

Are you going to go to the toy drive at rocks and valleys?
@@toyota-every-day When is that?
@@turbostoybox218210 am 12/7/24 rocks and valleys harrison Michigan
Update on how the leaf pack performed and held up? Was gonna go with the icon RXT but shifting towards dobinson leaf
@@DrewWinter-ye7ut He is super happy with them. Has a topper on it and pulls a trailer. Still holding up great!
I’d be afraid to do this because the 37s would affect speed and acceleration
Pro tip: if you dont have a noid light you can use a small LED trailer light. Really any small LED works.
Geiser or eibach springs?
This was lifted with Geiser springs.
Looks like it was a fun day here in northern lower Michigan for sure!
Driven by Whintey and maitance and cleanup by andy
Do you which ome springs you went with?
Sorry I don’t recall. It was meant for 2.5” lift in front and 2” rear with no load.
Hi. Thinking about buying Bilstein 5100 front n back. Is it a hard ride ? Like u feel potholes, etc ? Thx.
@@kota11334 these are really close to a stock replacement. Feels like stock only taller in front.
Hopefully by spring I'll be doing the same thing. In the middle of building an 87 single cab solid axle Toyota.
@@davidmason7756 awesome!
The center of my passenger wiper blade does not make contact with the windscreen, I have the same car (uk version) I have replaced the wiper arm and blades but still have the same issue. When you took off the arms and reattached did you have this issue at all when aligning?
@@will7336 I did not. However on other cars I’ve had your problem. Sometimes it has been resolved by bending the wiper blade end of the arm slightly giving it more pressure against the glass. But this doesn’t always work unfortunately.
Hey, I live right by Cabelas lol. Love your videos keep up the content. You guys ever wheel bundy hill in Jerome, Michigan?
@@michaelmichels5168 That is one spot in Michigan I have not been to. Maybe some day I need to make a trip!
That's was an awesome video
@@Smokingtrailsoffroadclub Thanks! We had a riot 😂
@turbostoybox2182 yeah sometimes you just got to open her up and later eat lol
I love it when a plan comes together. Thanks Andy.
Did you leave the stock sway bar end links in place while doing the install? Thankyou
Like did you reuse the oem ones?
@@mannyf1437 Yes.
@mannyf1437 Correct I was able to use the stock ones. Even if yours are bad stock replacements from the parts store are fine.
One of these years I will make the treck for this

Thanks for letting us tag along. Was a fantastic day and turnout
Thanks for the invite! Had a great time.
Thanks for taking us along for the ride Andy. Some great drone video coverage too.
Any updates? Any problems? I’m getting my insight suspension this weekend. I’ve watched this video so many times haha. Can it handle the interstate at all?
@@brandone7526 No regrets! Handles great, better ground clearance, almost no impact on mpg. Total win!
Thank you for the update!!
I replaced the gasoline tank strap a few yeats ago. The tank was hanging exactly as was yours. The brine applied to the roads in Ontario, Canada is brutal on vehicles.
@@markcarew6724 same here in Michigan. 😞
Ty ❤ seriously was like ok screws are out now what lol 😂 keep posting you are appreciated
Did you have to tie into the factory amp for anything?
@@trentoningram No.
Another great instructional video Andy. Thanks for sharing your skills with us.
So cool! I've got a 2009 that I've been thinking about lifting for increased clearance in snow and rough roads, and you've inspired me to definitely just do it. Thanks much for sharing
Back in the day doing manual swaps the easiest was to leave the neutral start switch bagged up undrrneath . Should show on dash if bulb still. But if thats not in park or nuetral no start, but maybe thats why the extra wires.
How have yours been work. I find mine unlocked when first installed. A quick drive and the lock and won't unlock.
@@richnickelkellerwilliamsre8037 mine seem to work great. They can be stiff if there is still a load on them. Sometimes you need to wiggle the steering side to side a little. But I’ve never use more than my hand to turn the dial.
This isba 99 04 front axle with 35 spline shafts?
@ correct. Yukon Chromoly 35 spline outers.
Hows the ride if you just upgrade only the front shocks?
You couldn’t really tell a difference other than height.
Wait? You've got a scissor lift? 🤔
Also, I've bought 6 trucks so far sight unseen and only 1 of them was a slight disappointment.

@@drianashton LMK when you need one. You’re welcome to borrow mine.
Looks like you got a "Macgyver" to "Macgyver". That vehicle has an unbelievable number of issues.
Great video thank you!
This can be a problem with any diff with this type of locker, even if you re-use the original spider gear shims, you may need a set of new shims. When I replaced my carrier on my junkyard C8.25 for my XJ with a 29 spline carrier, that was one thing I made sure to check. I ended up using the thicker shims in the pack just to make sure the spider gears didn't get gnarly like his... Too much clearance + big tires + 'just keep sending it until it hooks up'... By the look of it, the next failure will be the axles.
Looks nice!
Yup, documented all the damage on the retal always. Photos and videos.. Smart man.
Around 8:15 you can see a chip outta the ring gear. How's it doing now? They can take a lot b4 breaking.
@@ohane1 Over 2 years later and still going strong. 💪🏼
Obviously it helps to know exactly what you are doing.
Should have done JBA Offraod UCA's...entire thing is greasable!!!
@@tadheath5856 I didn’t pick the parts for him. Definitely would have been my suggestion.
Spinning one wheel excessively is what causes spider gears to fail, Not manufacturing defect,
