it reminds me of my first love and last never got it again

Growing up I never knew how much my little cousins meant to me, I tried to avoid them as much as possible, finding their little games annoying and not understanding why they wanted to spend so much time with me. A few months ago I finally realised how much they meant to me. They saw the hero in me, even though i was just a messed up teenager. They looked up to me like no one else. I finally realise how important to me they were Because one day they're going to grow up, they're gonna have their own lives, perhaps even their own children. They're not gonna see me the same way that they did, they're not gonna play superheroes and beg me to play with them anymore. Please DON'T make the same mistakes I did, I'm bawling my eyes out rn because they're gone. I wish I showed them the love they deserve. So spend time with your little cousin, they won't be like this forever. You are SO lucky to have precious little cousins, build meaningful and lifelong memories with them, cherish them. Don't regret it like me 😢

January 6th 2024. The day I found out what it was that plauged me. Ever since June/July, last year, my medical condition had been acting weird. Everything began with just some headache, but with time, other symptoms appeared. The food I ate kept comming back up, I was tired, though sleeping like a log, and even a few extra hours at night. A few days had passed since I was hospitalized, but on saturday, everything turned out. After a CT the day prior, they had found a tumour in my brain. It was blocking a canal in my brain, hence increasing the pressure and was the reason for all my symptoms. Same night I was transported to a bigger hospital and booked up for surgery. A few days later, on January 10th, the surgery was done. The idea here was to make a new canal around the tumour, and take samples of it to decide further treatment. Luckily it went well with no problems, and my stay was to be for 1 and a half week. I was allowed to return home for a while until they've got the results of the samples. When it came, me and my family went to see the doctors again and hear what it said. The way they presented it is discussable. It was a stage 1 cancer tumour, but a cancer tumour with "good possibilities" to cure. Fortunately, I was 17, and in relatively good shape, so I would be well again one day. It would only take some time, and energy. On June 4th 2024, I finished my treatment. 16 days of chemotherapy drugs spread out over 10 weeks, and 4 times at the hospital going through treatment. Got some side effects of the treatment. Felt ”dried out”, lost some hair, and was quite tired, but I think I got away rather good regardless of those side effects. In addition to that, I got 3 weeks of radiation therapy. Needless to say, this was quite a rollercoaster. I was unlucky turning 18 in all this caos, on February 5th. But now I’m finally back at my feet and living life as normal again. Yours truly Hugo Konrad
