we have tio2 with dopping to increase its efficiency so it create intermediate energy level between vb and cb. so free electrons are present in the intermediate energy level when light fall into them it move to cb and e present in vb move to intermediate energy level creating holes behind them am I right
Yes, you’re correct! When TiO₂ is doped, it creates intermediate energy levels between the valence band (VB) and conduction band (CB), which can enhance its photocatalytic efficiency. Doping introduces energy states within the bandgap of TiO₂. These intermediate levels lie between the VB and CB, allowing for additional transitions that are typically unavailable in undoped TiO₂. Upon light excitation, electrons from the VB can jump to these intermediate levels, leaving behind holes in the VB. Electrons in the intermediate level can then be excited further into the CB under suitable light conditions. This process effectively increases charge separation, as holes are left in the VB and electrons are transferred to the CB, reducing the recombination rate and enhancing the overall photocatalytic activity. This mechanism is central to improving light absorption and efficiency in doped TiO₂, especially under visible light.

what if I doped in TiO2 with Vanadium? I tried several methods included hydrothermal and sol-gel but it still couldn't work even in UV light or Visible light
Adjust Doping Concentration, Investigate co-doping TiO2 with additional elements (e.g., nitrogen, carbon) along with vanadium , Fine-tune parameters such as temperature, pH, and reaction time
