Snuck up on that cut 😅 Total time from design to finish cutting was under 45 minutes. As always, drop a c...

Cutting Wood Bowties On A Table Saw
Переглядів 8 тис.5 років тому
These were bow ties for a custom wood dining table we had the privilege of being commissioned for recently. Set to 9 degrees and 4" long, these are a perfect balance of both sleek and classy. Cutting them on the table saw was no issue and actually WAY better than using a bandsaw. We made a simple 4"x4" jig out of 1/4" mdf and then went to town. We made about 40 of these for this custom wood din...

haha - okay so this was extremely useful and I just did this, so thanks =) At the risk of sounding like a troll, though... I really don't think she needed you to put the 'finishing polish' on that for it to be ready to go, lol. Maybe next time just let her take the spotlight?

How do you get ketchup out baking soda doesn’t work

    • @idahowoodworking208

Ooh, thats a tough one! I would recommend making a salt paste with water and using that to scrub the whole surface of the board. Make sure to cover both faces of the cutting board so it doesn't warp! Let that sit for about 10 minutes, then scrape the salt off and start over with the baking soda process. Let me know how it goes!

Wow how do you still have all your fingers? That is incredibly dangerous. Not telling you how to work do as you please but good luck you'll need it .

Like a prior comment mentioned, need some commentary to explain this. I know the video shows fingers close but that is because the angle of the camera is off. This jig made this process incredibly safe to do.

Nice cutting board explanation. I notice most non edge grain boards seem designed to be used with your knife cutting at 90 degrees to the wood grain. I am curious - is it better to have a cross grain knife usage or with grain usage? Thanks!

I would use spring clamps rather than getting my fingers that close to a table saw blade - just one small slip would be horrendous.

Carl comments - This is an easy and almost everyday task for a woodworker of my day (60's through the end of the century) any boat builder could have done this with much less equipment, no computers and a equal result. Should hire some craftsmen. Look in the Handbook under calculation of segments.
