Hellenic Film Society USA is dedicated to promoting Greek cinema throughout the US. Our mission is to share the richness of Greek films with a wider American audience and to preserve the film heritage of Greece. We promote feature films, documentaries, and film shorts made by Greek and Greek-American filmmakers, and films that promote the cultures of Greece and Cyprus and promote cultural understanding.
We celebrate Greek cinema in many ways:. Wwe host the annual New York Greek Film Expo, a Greek film festival for all New Yorkers, in theaters in the New York metro area and we help bring Greek film festivals to other cities. We present monthly Greek film screenings at the Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI) in Astoria, NY, as part of our Always on Sunday film series, and we present Greek films on demand around the world. In addition, we host Conversations About Film with Greek and Greek-American actors and directors through interviews and panel discussions.

This intense drama juxtaposes the lives of two fathers. Being of Greek-Cypriot /English heritage, so very interesting to have found this channel. In the past I would visit Riverside Studios, Hammersmith, London to see Greek films supported by the Greek Embassy in London. Managed to meet and shake hands with Michael Cakoyannis and hear Melina Mercouri husband speak. Great honour to have met them both 👍.
Andreas’ acting is deserving of an Oscar. I’m definitely a fan!

It's been more than two years since Vicky's Diner closed, and I STILL miss it. Every day. The neighborhood just isn't the same without it, nor is my life. Vicky's was a home away (just a couple of blocks away) from home for me. I miss the food, I miss the people and sense of community, and I miss Vicky.
An amazing film! I hope more people see this and are introduced to Orthodoxy.
