Here on this channel I like to talk about climbing gear and help fill the void of unmentioned climbing gear. I focus on gear which isn’t talked about much, but also do other climbing videos.

What is your opinion on these after climbing with them? Interested in if they seem heavy, walk at all, hold well, are easy to place especially at range limits, any other details you have. Cheers!
unfortunately, small sizes of Z4 (those with one axis) have the risk of one pair of cams rotating, which makes it impossible to embed them in the rock; this problem does not occur in small X4 and other microcams; this is a serious problem (obviously a design problem), but it can be fixed with home methods;
Howamy LRS routes you did with a Revo? Did you use modifocation as are some tutorials on YT? Did you fall with a Revo?
I’ve done a few rope solos whenever I wanna do something alone. Did a bunch of fall tests in the gym with a buddy to get used to the later-than-usual fall assist. It works, just requires more momentum than a grigri to activate.
Can also just extend with a small sling, which is a simpler peice of kit to be carrying. And or, use leg loop for prussic to create distance.
From zero to "caking it" in 1 second
Would love to see more on the ball nuts
That's not a Prusik
It’s a French prusik
Awesome! Trying this next weekend 🤙
How did it end up being for you?
I don’t do anything hardcore enough to need the ultralightness, but it’s good! The price is difficult to justify if you have a harness that works well already.
“Felt like I was going to die back there” I’d have the same feeling using a revo without backup knots.
Feels better when you do some test falls to get used to the mechanism.
Nice
Your right about the bridge needed. How about the grivel dbl. wire carabiners?
Super helpful!!
I’m new to trad and I didn’t even know trango had cams. Thank you for suggesting that. I bought a used rack with nice dragon cams but I need to supplement with a few extra cams for now and the Trango cams are good for the budget
Just led this yesterday! it was my first sport pitch, super fun climbing
This is a hard first sport climb!
Missing a cordellete. a 240 dynema sling is NOT amga approved anchor material. you're gonna die!
any insight as to why they made the .75 z4 so long?? its seriously almost as long as a #2 #3 c4s. i feel like if it was shorter it wouldn't be so wobbly cause the head of the cam is so heavy. not that heavy but ya.
Surprised this hasn't gotten more views yet. awesome video!!
The best video I Watched about this knot! Thanks !! Greetings from México
Also, pricing shouldn't really be a factor. Its your life that's on the line.
Some constructive criticism would be don't have the reasons for buying cams be because "they look pretty cool." How about their functionality, strength, weight...
Is that just a log with a hole hanging or is there something more special to it?
It is litteraly just a log with an eye bolt in the top and then a 3/4 hold drilled in at like a 45 degree angle
That "log" you see is a precarious tool placement some 233-feet above a half-melted ice waterfall in Ouray, CO.
Legit
I really like passive cams. Hex, off set nuts and abalaks (rock empire and kouba) and tricams are some of my favourite gear. Mostly use nuts and adalaks as find the price to protection ratio is amazing. There is a time and place for active cams and they can be amazing but I would climb with out them. I always have a full set of nuts and offsets and adalaks when I arrive for a climbing session.
make sure you place the outer cam lobes facing down when you are placing pro horizontally. What was the point of the nest of cams if they are not equalized? (the gray one was overcammed anyways)
Redundancy
Sick clip dude, glad this ended up in my recommended!
Thanks!
Nice lead. Place more gear early in the pitch. Looks tough for 5.8.
For sure
Terrible just bad overall
Terrible just bad overall
Try resting on those horizontals using hand jams. Lets you get over the forearm pump by using different muscles.
Never learned to crack climb :)
Thanks for this great review! Greetings from Germany!
I just realized you are Gavin!!! I was a subscriber before you were famous. Listen to Timmy and remember to were your helmet out there bro. Gotta stay safe. 😂
화면봐서는 유익한 정보같은데요 한국어 자막은 않되는지요?
I just ordered Camelot number six with bd green live wire carabiner
Gotta have the 6 Camelot
Laybacking is the technique of no technique. A good handjam and getting over your feet in a stem would have taken the weight off your arms. It would also give you the ability to see the placement of those cams. When things become dire that can give you the confidence to know your gear is bomber.
Can’t crack climb
Still can’t…
Hi, does the Supercam have bigger range than comparable size dual-axel cam in practice? Like this vs grey BD C4? thanks
Yes. That’s the whole point is they have considerably greater range than the BD equivalents, thus making them more versatile, at least in concept.
really cool idea for making gear storage look good in a small space.
Thank you...
Ive used these axes before and really like them i hope you enjoy them as much as i did
how durable are they?
They were my first and last cams, so they’ve held up
What is the BD-equivalent size at the lower end of the cam’s range?
Probably a small #3
Great Video!
Proceeds to toss wood onto ground right after sanding lmao
My thoughts exactly :)
I’d be very hesitant to use these cams passively. Cam stops don’t always mean passive use. For example some of the black diamond C3 and metolius master cams have cam stops but are not intended to be used as passive pro. Trango doesn’t seem to mention that their cam is rated to be used passively in the product manual. For me the sure way to tell if a cam is rated for passive placements is if it has double axles. Anyway who cares, don’t think I’ve used a cam passively once and I’m sure I’m not alone.
A fun challenge is always to climb with just passive pro if you haven’t already. I also like to challenge myself when it’s comes to anchor material. You can get real creative when it comes to minimal gear material efficiency anchors. Try doing some easy multi pitch with only single length slings so no quads or doubles for anchors it’s definitely doable.
Let's climb!
Pretty slick I gotta try that
Would you whip?
Curious why you got the largest size of the z4 when you could’ve just got a C4?
The z4 have a bendable stem that helps with walking . It also is lighter then an ultra light
