I'm a hardass that body in the waterwheel got me reeling under the blanket the first time I saw it I mean it was years ago but it still gives me chills sometimes Just the "thud" and then the pause as the horror slowly seeps onto her face as she realizes what the hell is going on love the dsecription by the way Linnet's death: oOOooOoO
The QUEEN
The 1930's Cleopatra.
the costumes is beautiful and Kenneth Branagh and his cast are great performers
bro pls don't aestheticise or romantacise this character. Agatha Christie never wrote such characters for people to satisfy their obsession.. Jacqueline is not unstoppable, she isn't even close to being clever or witty. Linnet gave herself away after going for Simon. On the other hand, Jacqueline had eyes on Linnet's wealth for a long time. Linnet's obsession with Simon just made things easier for Jacqueline. Simon would never betray Jacqueline, the two of them were weird together.
The actress doesn't embody Jacqueline well. In the book, I think she just, seemed too frantic and well, immersed in her own thoughts. She was hellish frantic, and was acting like a mad woman for half the book. When it was revealed that she and Simon had planned it all out, she didn't act like a cold blooded killer and mysteriously smiled, she still acted the same way! Frantic as hell! It was just in her blood. She wanted linnet's money and kill her.
Movie and book are two different things. There's no way I can sympathise with this character ONLY because in the movie, the actress's aesthetics are likeable. When I was reading "Death in the Nile", I was thouroughly invested in Linnet Ridgeway, she seemed like a completely normal, a bit carefree person in her own right. But she was too gullible and oblivious. Jacqueline, on the other hand, didn't seem like who she turned out to be at all! She was on it the entire time. But Linnet did wrong by going after her best friend's partner, which led to her downfall. At the same time, Jacqueline had approached linnet for the very same reason, to fool her. I can't like any of these characters. No really, the side characters were better.
Kenneth Branagh is amazing actor and director and his cast are great

The mastermind who couldn’t deny her lover the things he wanted , not even a plan
Don’t get me wrong, I did like certain elements of this adaptation. But I felt that the book itself outshined the film like the sun outshines the moon. I read almost all of Poirot and Miss Marple before going into the stand-alone novels and short stories. Christie has been the Queen of Crime Fiction longer than Elizabeth II was Queen of England. I have yet to come across her equal. But I was proud of myself when I could figure out the solution and actually get it right. The Pale Horse was, to me, one of her very best mysteries. I could not predict the ending of that one, even though I had come to understand some of her methods of storytelling. It was a true stumper. The answer was brilliant, and simple. But it never occurred to me, and that’s what I like about it.
Is she really the villain though?! 🤔🤔🤔🧐🧐🧐🤨🤨🤨
Where is This from?

Yasss
She’s got both God and the Devil written in her eyes. I didn’t think such a thing were possible. Both are apparent at different times.

Jaqueline Bisset - convincing performance of “a girl who is having a nervous breakdown.” Her character seems to catch no breaks at all, as one bad thing after another happens to her and leaves her in a pitiable state. Emma Griffiths Malin - a well-balanced Jackie. Both calculating and sympathetic. In some ways she was my favorite. Emma Mackey - definitely a femme fatale Jackie. I can see the extremely devilish and manipulative side in this portrayal. The confidante everyone would probably trust in, and ultimately regret it. All of them did great jobs at portraying the multiple-faceted shades of this character.
Amazing edit
Gets killed by jaqueline
9/10 bc of the TIKTOK WATERMARK
This movie was a lot better then the novel since I like to visualize things and this is how I did it
Us humans are crazy we have to kill for a living
Sorry Gal Gadot, but I’d take her rendition of Cleopatra over yours any day.
Mia Farrow’s Jackie was overacted, but somehow convincing as a woman going mad as her whole world seems to be crumbling around her. One rotten break after another. The woman who played Linnet in that film was absolutely gorgeous, and Mia’s take on Jackie felt like she didn’t stand a chance. It made Simon’s “falling for” Linnet so much more convincing. (Which makes the end have that Agatha Christie twist we all love). Emma Griffiths Malin’s Jackie was surprisingly sympathetic, probably the most sympathetic. You can tell from the start that she has some level-headedness. She’s not completely gone. She can be calculating. But she is human. She is a well-balanced version of Jackie. The one most likely to slip under the radar. Showing her multiple sides. Emma Mackey’s Jackie was a stunner! Every shot of the camera seemed to capture her best side. And her dialogues with Poirot are quite good. I could see better than ever what Jackie was doing to Poirot, making him her confidante when all the while she is trying to manipulate him. No one can doubt that this version of Jackie is a femme fatale, and a Devil whispering doubt in the hero’s ear. I see the good in all versions.
