Mayflower Secondary School began in 1981 with Mr Wan Hussein as the pioneering principal. On 15 July 1983 the school was officially opened by Mr Lim Boon Heng, then Member of Parliament for Kebun Baru. The school was built at a cost of $5.46 million and covers 2.7 hectares.
The school is celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2011.
The first event, "Tri-Fit" will be carried out on Saturday, March 12. The students took part in 3 sports events: Walking, Rollerblading and Rope Skipping. The school's partners will be invited to participate in the afternoon festivities of Line Dancing, Karaoke and Waltz Dancing.
