Skeleton Crew!
The newest show on Disney Plus.
Was it worth the hype?
Is there anything good about it?
Is it really Goonies in outer space?
Well, check out what we think. Caleb and Daniel just finished watching the whole show and got together to talk about the good, the bad, and how high they'd rank it amongst other shows.

Imaginaries Literary Podcast #13 CRACK! The snow shovel broke in two-the handle snapped back and almost hit Andrew in the face. "No!" He growled through his teeth; he would not be getting any money from this job. Even though his day started well, a broken shovel was only his latest disappointment. The old lady at the first house he approached said, "yes, please." when he offered to shovel her f...

21 Sept. 1835. Margate. “A Guinea?” “Yes.” I looked over the man’s shoulder at the “steamboat,” already crowded with passengers. “And they’ve all paid that much?” I asked. “Do you want it or not?” he said, without answering my question. I told the man that I did want it, but that I would be learning to swim in the meantime, because I could not afford to pay it again. He raised his eyebrows and ...

A Fantastic Halloween Story!! Loved the voice acting and narration! I look forward to seeing more content from you!
Thanks so much!! We have a story breakdown of the show "skeleton crew" coming out tomorrow! And then a few more stories in the coming weeeks!
@ImaginariesLiteraryPodcast Excellent! I'll be there for support🫱🏻🫲🏾
@@BardsoftheSoundFable You're the best!
Idk if you’ve gotten around to reading some literature from Japanese writers, but I recently read “red bean paste” and it was amazing, I’d love to see an anime movie iteration of it come to life, with that “weathering with you” animation style
Ohhhh, I have not, but I'll have to check it out! We had a guest on a while back (Brandon McNulty) and we chatted about Japanese writing (including Manga) it was a lot of fun! I'll take this as a sign to read more Japanese literature
@ yeah manga is the shiz! Another great Japanese book I read recently was “before the coffee gets cold” it’s a fairly short read too but quite good
@@N3RDCULTURE It's now on the list! Thanks!!
Very cool idea. I'd like to see one based on all Stephen King books and movies I'm a huge fan.
You don't know what you've done! Caleb (who is a huge SK fan) is going to freak out...and he'll rope us into doing it...(Caleb thanks you!) BTW we mention Sai King probably every episode ha ha Long days and pleasant nights to you
Muppet chorus! Has to be my new favorite term lol
Ha ha ha ha awesome!! What movie would you Muppet-fy?
Great insight!
Fight club for me is hands down best book to movie
Fantastic choice!
Nice!
My favourite book is A Clockwork Orange.. but it can be a hard read sometimes haha
That's a great one! I think it's wild the Kubrick changed the ending (or ended the story before the ending in the book) totally changed the message of the author!!
A christmas carrol is a classic!
For sure!
It’s hard for me to argue that Lord of the Rings isn’t the best book adapted to movies ever made.
We agree! and I promise, we'll be talking about it later in this series ha ha
Always a grat show!
I've heard it said that Michael Cane is such a perfect cast for Muppets Christmas Carol because he really makes the whole cast of Muppets feel more human with his acting. I've also heard it said that Tim Curry was a perfect cast for Muppets Treasure Island because he really went full muppet (in the best sort of way)
First off, love the name! Second, yes, I have actually heard that before! And I love it...and it totally checks out! Amazing fact!
Why do you guys think this one is doing so well? It's your best by over a factor of 2 right now. Did you do anything different this time? Or maybe did YT finally have enough data on your audience to promote it to specifically those ppl? I'm definitely going for more of a shot gun approach with respect to hashtags, I have a million hashtags on my vids. I'm even experimenting with hash tagging trending events and topics, but I guess that could hurt instead of help b/c the proverbial net is too wide and my content isn't satisfying the ppl it's being put in front of. I'm so jealous, lol, every video of mine does better than the one before with the exception of one, and obvs (for me anyway) it's hard not to compare our channels b/c they're both podcasts, we started around the same time, ect. If we work together, we can crack the code lol
You guys are better at replying to comments than me...
Ha ha for sure!! We'll have to chat!! I'll send you a message :^)
I think my all time favourite book to movies are 1) Harry Potter and 2) five feet apart
Ohhh, I don't know rive feet apart...but I know Harry Potter!
@ oh it’s an fantastic book about kids who struggle with cystic fibrosis. The book is amazing and the film did a fantastic job of bringing it to life. Highly recommend them both
0:00 - intro 0:33 - Caleb's favorite 7:03 Timothy's Favorite book/story 7:45 - favorite film rendition of his favorite book/story 10:27 Muppet-fy movies? 11:56 Daniel's choice 16:06 closing
I wonder why this one popped off so hard and your other books to movies didn’t?
5k, wow!
Judy Garland’s story is tragic. The Wizard of OZ is amazing.
It really is...much more tragic than Daniel's love story...but only a little ha ha Poor little Daniel 😔
Gang gang
These were some nice stories< i have enjoyed stories from Charles Dickens and its been so long since i have read or heard A Christmas Carol
My favorite books turned into movies are: Chuck Palahniuk - Fight Club, Patrick Süsskind - The Perfume and Orson Scott Card - Ender‘s Game. As a fan of SF literature, I, of course, enjoyed Dune (Frank Herbert) and I, Robot (Isaac Asimov). But I guess I liked the books more 😊
Ohhh, fight club (book and film) are really great! I didn't read the perfume, but I did watch the wild film! I hated the film ender's game... because the book is in my top ten ha ha ha such an amazing book! Dune is incredible (more so the film...but I love the books too) and I, robot is great! Really great list :^)
My favorite book to movie is The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The book is very long, detailed and drawn out, but the movies do a good job of keeping what was absolutely necessary to tell the story well.
You will need to see the next episode of the series ha ha you may (or May not) be surprised!
Great book choices!
I HATED the Wizard of Oz.
Ha ha well, you're not the only one
Very Well written story.
Thanks so much 😊
You guys utilized some really interesting storytelling techniques here!
I love the storybook feel.
Thanks so much! I was totally going for an 80's vibe. If you have some time, you should check out the discussion video! We talk about 80's films and inspirations
Another instant classic~
Episode 2 is coming out Monday!!
Amazing content!
This is such a great idea.
Interesting story!
As always, you guys have such great chemistry and can make even the most ordinary things interesting-not that I’m saying the review was ordinary, haha!
Ha ha ha ha thanks!!
Love a good book.
Great goals for the new year! Keep up the awesome content
Thanks! You too!
nice story
Thanks for watching! I appreciate you
@15:58, ho, ho, ho?
You’re a good narrator
Thanks, man! I hate it ha ha but it's a psychological thing...almost everyone hates their own voice...because of our bones. Seriously, because we hear our own voices through our bones, it sounds completely different to us...so when we hear our voices outside of the reverberated filter...it makes almost everyone cringe. I bet even Morgan Freeman cringes a little every time he hears his voice....well, maybe not ha ha but I sure do. Blah
@14:43, the only time I’ve ever used the “gaggle” was to refer to a group of women. “A gaggle of girls.” You see, it has alliteration lol
ha ha yes, that is the instance that "gaggle" is used most...and since the majority of her friends are probably girls, I didn't alter it TOO much. But personally, I like using "a gaggle of geese"
@10:47 Its like old school Inception. #LeonardoDicaprio
It's funny to think of Inception as old school...but, dang. it is!
This video is Genuinely Relaxing whilst listening in the background 🎧😎
Thanks so much! Glad we were able to relax you :^D Check out one of our stories...it's pretty relaxing...but also entertaining!
Always enjoy the conversation
Thanks so much!!
0:00 Intro (it's funny...but if you're watching...then you've already seen it!) 1:10 Daniel's thought 2:17 "High Noon" 3:09 Timothy's thoughts "The Gift of the Magi" 5:03 "Best" gift for the season? 6:34 Hope in the end? 8:39 "The Lady or the Tiger" 12:02 "tack on one little thing"/ last thoughts on the ending
I really enjoyed this story, well done and very well narrated
Thanks so much :^) we really appreciate the support
Happy new year!
Happy new year!
Making note that you’ve talked about Tim Curry before. I struggle with that too, keeping a running tally of what you’ve talked about, but I think it’s better to go with the “comic book” principle. Every issue is someone’s first comic book and T he story needs to make sense to them. Ex: I didn’t know you’ve already talked about Tim Curry and it took me out of it enough that I took action on writing this comment. But, I feel like you answered my question, Caleb edits these videos. Good job
Ah, but it did make you comment...and maybe now you'll head back and look for those mentions :^) It's like an inside joke that people can trace back to the beginning...and get in on the joke 😁
I jumped to this one, but I’m going to go back and listen to the story. I like how it’s pitched, “Old/good Disney mixed with Pixar and Tangled,” not a direct quote
Great episode guys. I really liked the discussion on books to movies and their differences. @Caleb, presenting 101, never tell the audience you’re messing up or talking to long. They weren’t thinking about that until you said it. If you don’t like it, just edit those parts out in post. Not everybody needs to be Jo Rogan or Jay-Z and spit it in one go, and I dug up my manuscript. I thought I lost it. Do you guys hire editors for your writing? Do you use ChatGPT? I would love to send you guys a chapter or 2 and get your feedback. On or off camera, I just got a good webcam. LMK. Ps. I’m I’m on the hunt for a new video editor, please let me know if you have any leads on that as well
Thanks for the notes. Unlike presenting, this is more like a conversation, so that kind of talk is totally fine and actually can bring a personal connection between the viewer and us :^) That's great you found your manuscript! Send it along, we're always down to support.
@@ImaginariesLiteraryPodcast fuck yea
These are really good goals! I hope you have a lovely new year mate. I have 2 goals myself for next year to finish home renovations & pay off my debts and if I can achieve these I will be super happy
Thanks so much!! You CAN reach those goals! Keep them in mind all year and you'll do great :^D we believe in you
