    • @DrivenDailyPOV
      @DrivenDailyPOV 5 місяців тому

      @xXsomberXx Exactly, while I am holding the clutch at the biting point, I gently add some gas. Once it starts moving, I slowly release the clutch fully. It's all about finding that smooth balance between adding gas and releasing the clutch. The more you practice, the easier it gets and the faster you can do it spontaneously. Also, having a louder muffler and rolling down the window can make it easier.

    Thank you so much for this video. I am new to the WRX world and manual transmission. I bought a 2022 WRX new oct of 2022. I bin driving automatics for 20+ yrs. Wanted to learn manal. I taught myself through youtube videos, Lol. I found that WRX is very finicky animal to get down smoothly. I benefited from watching your video as it applies to my car. More tutorial videos like this would be great! Shots of your feet, gages & info. Example's tutorial video specifically for the VB WRX could be, Upshifting (with shots of your feet, etc) Downshifting, Throttle input as your coming of the clutch? Any gear(s) change you find more "jerky or "jolts"" then others that require more finesse? A in depth one about solo of "timing" of the clutch would be awesome. IDK just some ideas. I find that I have to pause on the bite point in every gear, yes even going into 6th or there will be a jolt. I've noticed that the revs drops so fast in this car making smooth gear changes difficult. Even a year later with this car, I might consistently have smooth shift 25% of the time. the other 75% there's a shock through the car. I've bin getting a tiny bit better with adding a touch of gas or pause, with every gear change. Yes, even going into 6th I need to add gas. if not, no matter how fast or slow i come off the clutch there will be a jolt. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure haven't my WRX any favours to its transmission by learning manual on it ether. Lol.

    I can tell from the video you’re still on an older version of the infotainment software. Go back to the stealership and have them update it again. I'm planning to make a video about it, hopefully this weekend. I had to practice on an empty road, roll down my windows, and listen to the engine. The Axcel back made a huge difference. Timing is the key for me, and I don't focus on the RPMs. I also have a short throw shifter, which makes it easier. I now have the cobb plate set at 15% for a total of 50% short throw. Don't like it. The billetworkz STS shaft height is to low for my liking & i'm not fan of a overly notchy feeling. This weeknd I'm putting the OEM shifter back in & leaving the cobb plate pin set 15% short throw position as I have tried this combo at 35% reduction too. Modern cars are trash, problems are to be expected. Better to have problems with infotainment then problems with the Engine. Subaru's track record in terms of reliability, isn't a good one in the first place. To complain about the car being loud on cold-start up, is an odd complaint. You bought a Subaru mate? I know the brand has faded away from it's heritage, but it's still a car guy brand with is basis in rally racing. It's probably loud on a cold start on purpose, because people that like cars, like loud cars.

Horrible factory tuning, horrible gear box and clutch take up feel. Multiple problems had to take back to the dealership. I could go on and on. Traded it in after only 2 years. @AndrewSVO honestly GTI was my first option, but I had an Audi A4 and it was a nightmare, endless money pit. I had to remove many parts to fix something simple. That’s why I was scared of German cars. GTI might be different and better than the Audi. Probably I’ll do more research next time about GTIs

      I agree. It shouldn’t be that bad. I felt I was exaggerating too much. Probably if you clean them once a week, it should good. I see many subies with white wheels. If it was that bad, you won’t see that many

    The brake pads are horrible. Was the first thing I changed when I got it. It also seems like the freezing is only happening on the big screens.

      Agree, the brake pads, if they are the same type as the STI are bad. I think they may be semi-metalic. A lot of dust. I recently changed them to Akebono ceramic and those are great!

    You have a right to your dislikes, it's your money, your car. However, it sounds more like you were exoecti g something that the wrx has never been. It is made primarily for the performance, not the comfort. None of your comlmplaints were performance-related which means Subaru did their job. And its odd to complain about the car being too loud. You put on an after-market exhaust. Again, you have every right to complain, and Im sorry, but it sounds like the wrx doesn't fit your wants

      If company puts something onto the car and QC passes it, it shouldn't be having the problems that he mentions. Like the infotainment freezing and squeaking seats, thats not acceptable especially if its a daily driver.

      I totally agree, but I wish I didn't have problems with the screen. I used to drive a lot, and I couldn't use maps on it. The brake pads can be replaced, which is not a big deal. Overall, I still love driving the car on weekends, and it's doing what it's supposed to do. If time came back, I would still buy it. I respect all opinions. Any feedback is appreciated 🙏👍

      I used to drive it daily, averaging 100 miles a day. I loved driving the car, but the screen used to freeze a lot, and I couldn’t use maps. You can’t believe how loud the squeaky noise is; you can’t even enjoy hearing the exhaust. I won’t complain about some noises here and there. Thank you for your support 🙏👌

      Yeah, bizarre review. I get the infotainment crap and squeaky seat (which is easily fixed with loctite), but loud exhaust and bad brakes? Most vehicles have shitty pads - change them. I agree that the calipers are weak - but this isn't an expensive car. One of the only cars I know of that is in this price range and have fantastic brakes is the VW GLI as it has Golf R brakes. But this is an anomaly.

      @noneofmybusiness9895 you’re right, I might have been exaggerating a bit. Don't get me wrong, I still love this car, but since I'm new to WRX, I wasn't expecting to have those minor issues, which aren't a big deal. I'm planning to replace the pads. I downloaded the latest update a month ago, ever since, the infotainment system has been working perfectly fine. My friend recently got his seat frame replaced at the dealer and no more squeaking. When I'm cruising with friends I forget about all the small annoying stuff and just enjoy the drive 👍

    I personally haven't experienced any freezes with the infotainment system (I hope it stays that way lol). The only time I had an issue with it was when the audio player kept rewinding the song but that only happened once since I bought the car back in February of this year. Chassis noise I'd say creaking here and there but nothing major. I'm not sure about the side windows yet because I typically keep them closed. But then again, I only drove 5,000 miles this year and I have the car resting for the winter. I do agree about the breaks, they are small and it takes quite a bit of force to get them to slow down the car.

    Good video. Don’t get offended by people they are just being harsh. What they mean to tell you is when you buy a wrx you’re paying for the performance. There will be rattles and squeaks. It might be annoying but it’s what you chose to pay for. It’s why the car costs the same amount as Imprezas crosstreks and foresters. A base model Impreza won’t have those issues because it’s more of a commuter car built for the masses. The wrx is for people that want a cheap, fun awd car. So they aren’t gonna give you the higher quality interior parts and the performance because then it would no longer be cheap. If this is your first wrx I understand why you’re surprised but I’ve been around these cars a long time and they all have similar issues with that. Nature of the beast. I have an 05 legacy gt which is more of a sports touring car so it has less road noise and rattles but back then it costed a lot more than a wrx for that reason.

    • @DrivenDailyPOV
      @DrivenDailyPOV 7 місяців тому

      You’re right. This is my first WRX. It totally makes sense that those cars were made for performance and the interior quality is not the greatest to keep the cost down so guys can afford them. Thanks for the insight and for your support 🙏👍

    Dude It's not a luxury car. Feeling the road in a wrx is normal, It's called a stratospheric start. It's an engineering design. It's the ecu changing the burn to dump lots of heat into the cats to light them off. Maybe you should have read up on the WRX before you bought it. WRX drivers don't buy them so they can cruise down the road as if they were in Lincoln or Cadillac. Maybe you should trade it in for a Prius!!

    • @DrivenDailyPOV
      @DrivenDailyPOV 7 місяців тому

      Lol. I usually drive about 100 miles per day. I use my Accord for work because it's a better option for commuting. I got the WRX to enjoy shifting, better handling, stiffer suspension, and louder noises and overall experience. However, the issues I complained about make driving less enjoyable. If you have a VB WRX with same issues, you'll know what I'm talking about. Instead of hearing the pops and bangs and a louder exhaust, you hear squeaks and rattles. It feels like you're on a rusty swing. I meet with many WRX drivers regularly, and they all complain about the same problems. I'll soon upload a video, and the squeaks can be heard better, although still not as loud as in person. Honestly, I don't mind driving the new Prius for work 😉. Anyway, I appreciate your feedback. This might be the only video of me complaining. Future videos will focus on cruising and city driving.
