    Question I'm having what if you only have one factory key and the key fob has been broke off and discarded. How can you program it without a diagnostic scanner? The owner says she has a key for the door but doesn't start the truck. Wouldn't door key be the same cut as the ignition? And couldn't I use it? Even though it's not programed? I thought of buying simple key kit or a scanner but if I can do it without the expense it would be nice.

    Painted a toothpick black, pushed "A" button down, wedged in toothpick at each back corner, broke off flush does the trick. They also make a bypass wiring harness for like $100.00, but I like simple and cheap better.

    Mission accomplished! There are thousands of EV's rotting in scrap yards due to battery failure! And thousands more unsold vehicles in The Big Three storage that are all electric because nobody wants to buy that bull crap! Sadly the government is still making them make these though and I'm pretty sure only half the current car companies in the world are going to survive the next 20 years...

      At that time that I did that repair, just the pulley was not available. So I changed the whole bracket. This part is very important to keep the belt tight, so if you are having trouble with it. I would replace the bracket, shock and pulley as one unit.

    Did you know a 1500 Denali only weigh 600lbs more than a Tesla? Did you know if more cars had this technology there would be a significant drop in car accidents and in turn lower insurance premiums and traffic related deaths? Now you do. I’m commenting not because I own any of these I drive a manual transmission car with zero tech in it. If you’re gonna try and argue against something make sure you make valid points. Hope this helps.

    If it is an older car that is misfiring or not running right, having watched a lot of repair videos there are a lot of things that can be wrong. Replacing timing belt/chain usually is not the issue other than stretch or slips, injectors, coils, plugs, fuel delivery, many engine mechanical issues, bad sensors, non-OEM parts.

    Reallyyy Late Comment, But I'm Just Now Having a Problem and I Hope You See This Comment. I Have a 97 Sr5, It wont unlock on the drivers side. The key will juss move it halfway then when you pull a handle it jerks it back down. I can't open the door inside or outside because it's basically still locked. I was finally able to get it enough to open the door and have to leave it unlocked or im fucked again lol. My question is, will a latch for a 98 fit a 97? Ones for the 97 are discontinued and goodluck finding a wrecked one lol. Its power locks. Please Help haha i'm about to pull my hair out.

    the biggest deal I worry about with doing a brake job is to be sure that the calipers are not rusted to the point the pads cannot move. I delivered mail in my own vehicle for years, rotors last a long time, so do calipers. 600 plus stops per day, never took to a shop.

  • @Matt-d8m
    @Matt-d8m Місяць тому

    If the customer comes in wanting a ‘pad slap’ or ‘rotor swap’ only, we will do it but NO guarantees. If it vibrates, squeaks, or has poor brake performance that’s on them. It’s a waste of time trying to lathe modern Chinese rotors. The min spec is 2mm under the actual thickness brand new. How do you bed new pads to old rotors? That doesn’t work. You sacrifice brake performance big time and screw a set of pads that when the rotors are glazed and it’s time to change, you can’t use the pads you just put on.

    • @308dad8
      @308dad8 2 місяці тому

      No need to replace unless you can’t get the piston(s) out. Most stores around me anyway haven’t kept them in stock in so long and a whole caliper is usually $20-$50 with no core. You can still order them though. Put front brakes on my truck few weeks ago. Came with rotors so why not. Weren’t bad but I have known the rotors were grooved for a while now, very grooved. So I did them. Found one side had sticky caliper slide pins so cleaned those up and stops the same but new rotors don’t shake yet when braking.

    • @burtreynolds3143
      @burtreynolds3143 Місяць тому

      @@308dad8 some times the bleed screw won't seal some times the mount threads get stripped out things like that I rebuild them but it is not fast and I usually have to order the bits on line so, you're not doing it the same day that you find out they are frozen or have an issue. be careful when you blow out the pistons. You can break a finger or the caliper if you're not careful.
