Great review. I was luckly enough to get 2 bottles after watching a review by Dusty Dan. The reason it has been called a George T Stagg killer is because during the ASCOT awards Smokeye Hill beat GTS in a blind. Cheers!

I get roasted everytime I talk about this one. I enjoyed the nose, but on the pallette, the finish ruined it for me. There is this off flavor to me. Its like cardboard that's been painted with a sharpie. I don't know cause everything is great up til tthen. I just tried again for this comment. I really am trying to like it.

This is a fantastic bourbon. I sampled out most of the first bottle I had, and was lucky to get a second bottle before it became hard to find. I am down to less than 1/2 a bottle. Been nursing the remaining I have until they restock and are available again. 🥃

Really the only BT I’m hunting if you can call it hunting if I see one and it’s MSRP sold but otherwise it’s a pass. In Ohio it’s hard to find if you’re not a camper and I’m not so chances are very slim but it is what it is.

Love Stagg for below $100. I have batches 15 through 24A. Hope to snag a 24B soon. 🥃

Still can’t find Stagg much here in GA and when you do it’s $200. Got a sample from Sean some time back and decided it’s not worth the chase. I would buy one for $100 or less. Cheers to 2k

Nice being in Maryland if you find them in a store, it’s typically 200 to 400 but I have a few stores that I do business with and can get them down typically to 150 cash out the door

My personal Rushmore is Heaven Hill, Old Forester, Wild Turkey, Jim Beam. If we're adding two newer/craft distilleries, I would also include New Riff and Green River.

Got this bottle in Fayetteville after meeting the distributor at a brewery. Crazy, I wasn’t as impressed. Just sipped it for the first time tonight and it’s very green being only 4 years and the proof drinks like it’s high proof. Getting a lot more rubbing alcohol than anything, and I like proof. I’d give it a C overall, the smokiness is there and I appreciate the attempt, but it’s just not for me at the price point.

Been mixing Benchmark full proof and single barrel 1:1 and it's delicious.

I agree that this bottle is disappointing. It does not warrant the hype. OWA is probably the best of the Weller line (excluding ones that start with William Larue), and I have picked it over CYPB, SiB and 12 in blinds.

Awesome selections! Although, it's hard for me to comprehend Buffalo Trace being off this list. The distillery with arguably the most sought-after bottles on the market. You also get a great history with the BTAC lineup and Pappy vertical! Curious what your deliberations were on Buff Trace?

bourbon touches char oak wood exclusively, jack daniels using sugar maple for filtration is adding wood esters you cant get in a real bourbon.

Great job I don't think you could go wrong with any of those. As for up and coming whiskey that I feel will be huge one day J Henry & Sons seems like every new release is better than the last.
