Victor Talking Machine Type E Rear Mount CABINET, TURNTABLE & MOTOR Running
I bought one today, number g522 The reproducer is not the same than your…mine looked smaller.
what type of horn are you using?
I have the exact same GEM. After years of not having a cylinder or a tune-up it's in the shop right now getting both - I'm excited to have it back home and playing again.
This has to be the great Enrico Caruso!
I'm curious what the serial number is. I have one just like this with a branded case and the very early reproducer. I think mine was built in 1900. The serial number is G18392.
This was recorded when Frank Buckles was 5 years of age. He died in 2011 at the age of 110, and he was the last surviving World War 1 veteran at the time of his death. The majority of the last surviving veterans were from the United Kingdom, such as Harry Patch (1898-2009) Henry Allingham (1896-2009) and Claude Choules (1901-2011).
Hey! This is a great video, I just found one of these bad boys, do you know where I can get a stylus?
What’s the serial number on this machine?
The curved internal horn and tonearm remind me of features found on later phonographs from after the war. Perhaps "U.S. Liberty Drivers" refers to something else? I can't find documentation (at least of the era) that refers to the drivers of Liberty Trucks as such.
Lovely cylinder and Gem. I am going to look at a key wind gem, must be a model A. It has the extra gear set to play 2 or 4 minute cylinders. I know other gems can play 4 min cylinders, do you think a model A spring could do it properly? Or are all gem springs the same? Thanks
Thanks for the tour of this beautiful machine. Especially like the Columbia logo. Sounds like a late acoustic recording, which to my mind adds character to 1920's jazzy music.
Lousy camera angles and claustrophobic shots...If this was a grade school project, it would be a do-over...
who tf are you LMAOOOO
@@gunnarthefeisty Hi Gunnar
Thanks for posting this beautifully played 1920's tune with catchy vocal refrain. Your BI Sterling looks & sounds good too.
Pretty case on that machine. Nice clear H too. Probably the most accurate version of that song. I like the chicken part "a colored pet". Not politically correct, but funny. Thanks for showing.
Ah, the good old days, when “whitewashing” simply meant coating stuff in chalk mixed with water.
Замечательно ! Спасибо тем кто его сохранил , обслужил и нам показал
We must
Beautiful record player and record
Beautiful record player
I have a Victor Two.. similar..
I have that same machine ! Works !
beautiful gramofone brazil
This sounds like a great record players
Beautiful record player
Oh, my, what a beautiful, lively, and cheery tune. I can imagine dancing around in the parlor. How wonderful. Thank you for posting.
Wow ! That machine has wonderful tone !!!
The song reminds me Tom & Jerry classic :D
What do you mean phonograph??? It's a GRAMOPHONE!!! They are not the same. A phonograph uses a cylinder, not a disc!
Ha Ha Ha! Well, maybe if you live in Europe this is called a gramophone. But here in the USA a "phonograph" can be used to reference a disc playing machine as well as a cylinder playing machine. My reference to this as a "phonograph" is absolutely correct and acceptable.
Phonograph not gramophone
Bellissimo sia la macchina che il disco !🙂
Love that hiss, pop and general racket of dreadful acoustic record played on original equipment. Good luck with that Columbia reproducer, though. Can't hurt this record, in any case.
awesome
“Under the Double Eagle”
I love it so much
I want it so bad
I love my phonographs, but these machines are just charming. Thanks for showing, it's a beauty. What year would that be from?
ᑭяỖmo𝓼𝐦 💋
What a great record player . We must preserve these
Good record player and record
Great machine! That H reproducer is not the model A reproducer. It should have a K.
That’s what I call Hi-Fi in the 1900!😂
The rhythm of the motor noise seems to correspond to the cycles of the turn table. This makes me think now that the noise is coming from the gear that meets the spindle shaft. Many phonograph repair folk recommend a synthetic grease called Super Lube to lessen this noise. It's easy to buy online. Annette Hanshaw is one of my favorite singers.
I have a pre-dog E myself. It has the metal arm, instead of the wooden one, but otherwise identical.
What RPM does that play at
Alguém sabe o nome da música ?
I have model 50. Unfortunately, I don't have cylinders to play and it is difficult to get down due to difficulties faced by the country
Impressionante como a qualidade de som é relativamente boa para um mecanismo arcaico, eu poderia ouvir isso o dia inteiro, estou ouvindo meu Vinil Madonna, faixa "cherish" e me deixa de queixo caído com a evolução
What's the rune name please?
I want to purchase so please SEND PRICE
Wow! First one I've seen. Great choice of record!!!!!
Nice machine: and an S reproducer, to boot!
