I'm not much of a basketball fan but have been checking out these vids on Caitlin and the perspective for me is what if the NHL did this to Gretzky, give him penalties for skating, scoring and changing the game taking it to a whole new level and bringing in new fans.

The WNBA has imploded since CC came on the scene and many so-called experts and commentators have shamed themselves with their obvious bias against her for no apparent reason. Considering what she has done for the game in her first year, CC should be treated better than this, much better.

Refs have been calling fouls that are obviously just for CC! Diana Taurasi was seen kicking the ball in one of the games she had against the Fever but didn't get any attention from any ref.. ridiculous! Those refs have no dignity, they should stay away from all sports..

Instead of saying the same thing over and over, can we discuss how we stop the violence in our sports? Some sports are violent, granted. Basketball is supposed to be a non to light contact sport. These flagrant fouls are NOT non to light contact. I get the idea of competition and high levels of emotion in a game. So, how do we curb this behavior? We do what some men's sports have done. Excessive force is met with fines. Set a scale, make it slide for numbers of offenses. Call it a percent of salary. Hold these "professional" sports women accountable. And stop saying the names of the people over and over and over. The press is glorifying the whole thing. Take away platform and they end up silenced. Delay your post-game interview session and cut the BS out of them. Simple acts that can make a difference. What are you going to do when one of these players, male or female or gay or lesbian or what the heck ever, gets permanently injured and loses their career because of this. Stop the Violence BEFORE that happens. It takes people with a voice like yours to make that happen.

I guarantee you this...I had "never, ever seen a WNBA game. Didn't interest me in the slightest. But, like most folks this girl comes along who broke records left and right in college then, joins the WNBA. It pulled me right in man. Before I knew it I'm checking when her next game is, setting my DVR to record games etc. I'm a sports fan and CC has brought excitement to the court and I don't give two shits about the color of her skin. Watching a sporting event should be exciting, that's what CC brings to the table along with about 50 million new viewers. Same as Magic and Larry, god it was good watching those dudes go to battle. It was EXCITING ! I hope Angel can grow up and bring the same intense rivalry to the court. Sorry such a long comment.
